Did anyone's baby have latch issues?? how did you finally fix it? he's only a day old and I've had lactation come in with him for almost every feed and still just Bites on my Nipple and now I'm sooo sore that last night I tried to pump colostrum and do formula just so they can heal a bit. I don't know what to do because I want to breast feed but I can't take take the pain of it every time. I try to relatch every time he hurts me but he just can't get it right
once they give you one, use it. once your baby starts latching on that about halfway through your feeding pull baby and nipple shield off and offer bare nipple. put the tip of your nipple to baby's nose and when baby opens real wide stick whole nipple inside. that's how I was able to fix my little girls! it took about a week and a half. also, annoy the crap out of lactation. they are there to help. use them everytime you feed. also, don't wait until baby is so hungry he/she is crying...that will just cause baby and you to become frustrated
Same thing happened to me. My lactation consultant told me to stick my finger on the side of her mouth to break the seal and readjust her. Took about a month to get her to latch right. You got this mama!
I personally found that putting my hand in a C position and grabing my boob and placing baby near helped me she latched on quickly its like a hamburger to her lol!
I'am a first timer at breast feeing my baby is 2 weeks old & my nipples were very sore the first week and a half it will get better. Are you using the lanolin? it helped me after each feeding. Once you make it threw the first two weeks you will be ok it gets better dont give up :) As for the latching I would talk to your lactation consultant I've heard they have nipple shields maybe they can help you figure out if those will help. Goodluck!
hand expressing always helped me get her to latch better
