Another nursery post 🤦 ♀

Another nursery post 🤦‍♀️

Just picked tommy up from nursery and as soon as i picked him up i could smell poo in his nappy. I checked his tapastry and he was last changed at 4:20pm. I picked him up at 6pm, so he must have done inbetween then and nobody has noticed.

Also on friday my partner explained when he dropped him off that he has a runny nose and could they wipe his nose more as he is constantly coming home with a crusty nose and looks like theyre not wiping it. Today i pick him up and he has dried snot all round his nose and face and poo in his nappy. They said he had also been playing in the garden so had changed his trousers as he had gotten wet but as soon as i got him home i noticed his sleeves were also really damp and wet.

Honestly i am really really trying to not be one of those moany mums but he just comes out looking like complete filth. 😩 any suggestions please?

Honestly I wouldn’t be happy, especially if this sort of thing keeps happening! When I pick up Erica from her Nursery all the kids look clean and happy. I’ve never had a problem with Erica being left in a dirty nappy, if they get wet then they change them, like you say a bit of paint/ chalk etc isn’t a problem. She almost always comes out with a sticker for something positive (helping to tidy/ good listening etc) and a craft or picture that she’s drawn. I’d definitely say something- are they just lazy or understaffed? Either way it’s not acceptable-especially how expensive child care is! Xx

Honestly I've never seen tommy come out with a picture or anything hes done there, I've only ever seen him come out once with a cake they had baked and hes been there 4 months. I dont know what the issue is but I'm definitely going through management now as it's just becoming a joke. Especially after my partner even mentioned about tommys nose getting sore on friday then monday he comes out looking worse than ever. I wish I had taken photos yesterday of how he came home 🤦‍♀️ hopefully I can get it sorted as I dont want to move him as unless I have to as hes settled there 😩 xx

I work in a nursery (I own it too) and going home in a dirty nappy isn’t good. It does occasionally happen when the child has pood just as they’re about to go home but we would always notice and change them before they left. Because we check them.

Snotty noses are impossible. I have to say. When you’ve so many and your constantly wiping it’s inevitable someone’s gonna go home with a little dried snot on their face. We do our best to make sure it’s not a regular thing by checking them at home time.

We make sure staff help children clean their faces after meals. Using a warm face cloth. Making sure there’s no pasta sauce left in they eyebrows 😂

Dirty clothes are bound to happen but wet clothes should be changed.

I’d have a chat with the manager and just say “I don’t want to seem like a picky parent but can the staff please make sure they’re checking his bum more frequently and using a wet wipe on his face to clear any dried snot”. Explain that he came home in a dirty nappy and that it needs to be prevented from happening again.

Haha that's just made me laugh reading back on that 🤣🙈

Aw no I take my hat off to nursery workers you's graft hard and I know it can't be easy its hard with 2 of my own kids never mind a lot of others but I don't see it hard to wipe a face but seeing what you've said no wonder my kids come out like that if they are doing it themselves and if id of knew that I wouldn't of been so bothered but when I do see they've got food allll over them it's embrassing to walk home. So thanks maybe I'll start looking at things abit different🤣🤣

This is why I kept trying to have the benefit of the doubt as I have two close friends that work in nurseries and I would hate to cause them problems (if it was them) as I know there is a lot going on.

But they both also told me that bums should be checked before leaving the premises which clearly isnt happening at Tommy's nursery. Yeah I've emailed in to arrange a face to face meeting with a manager as there are a couple of issues I want to touch on this was just the cherry on the cake for me as I have let a lot of things slide these past few weeks.

It definitely wasnt a little dried snot either as I wouldnt have a problem with that it was like his face hadn't been cleaned all day.😩

Hopefully I can get some answers otherwise I'll be looking to move him xx

Your not alone ! I bring my kids home from nursery with there dinner all over there face aswel as crusty snot were they've not been cleaned im talking in there eyebrows and everything if things were normal I wouldn't be able to go anywhere straight from nursery because they are just rotten! I don't mind clothes thats completely different but the same thing happened to us last week she said to me kanes legs are abit damp we've been outside playing so fair enough I got him home and while I was taking his shoes off im not joking his pants wasn't damp they was wrenched I had to peel his shoes socks and pants off him! Simple things like looking through the bag and finding the 10 pairs of socks I've put in sight they still can't find any like I've not put any there honestly its pure laziness!! And there nursery has 18 kids all together its no where near as many as the others have but I try and not let it do my head in because even if they are snotty crusty dinner faced kids they adore the place! Deffo wouldn't be happy with them and would be telling them about the nappy situation tho that's another level! If my ad done a shite ha they would want t scarper and would know abar it !🙈 xx

I get that they arent going to be immaculate but he literally looked like nobody had wiped his face all day and it looked sore under his nostrils which wasnt there when I dropped him off. I dont mind the food or paint etc as that's normal but for me basic things like wiping his nose and changing his nappy are what I'm paying so much bloody money for 🤦‍♀️ the pants thing would have annoyed me I cant believe that 😩 I feel the same there is only 4-5 kids to every key person at Tommy's so how they cant keep on top of it is beyond me.

I've asked management for a meeting as it's got to the point where I am really unhappy now I just feel for the money I pay they should be doing so much better.

My friend works at a nursery and she said they have to wipe their faces and check their nappies before they are given back to parents so why is that not happening at Tommy's nursery. Xxx

To be fair if my kid comes out rotten I know he has had a good day! They play in mud, sand, water and paint, it’s impossible to keep them all clean. And I’m sure if they spent all their day wiping the kids’ noses they’d still miss some. Being left in a dirty nappy shouldn’t be happening though x

I'm not fussed about dirt like that it's the dried snot making his nose sore etc 🤦‍♀️ I'm happy if he comes out covered in paint etc as it means hes had a nice day. Xx

Fair play to you for keeping ya cool. Would of lost my sh*t if that was my tommy. The nose ... fair enough but not the dirty bum, that neglect and that going to make ur boys bum so sore 😔 would tell them how u felt when u picked him up today... as ur concerned he's getting left too long in his nappy.

Honestly I was in shock to be honest I couldnt believe they had let him out like that! Food/paint/dirt etc is fair enough but how nobody noticed he had done a poo is beyond me. It's a well thought after private nursery too which isnt cheap so to say I'm fuming is an understatement. I've asked management for a meeting xx

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

My son just turned 4 months and he eats a lot like 5 ounces every 2 - 3 hours is that bad ? Should I start introducing him to cereal ? He's on enfamil formula maybe mixing cereal in his milk will keep his tummy full for a longer time ? I don't want to be over feeding him , he also spits up a lot & sometimes I have a really hard time getting his gases out he randomly gets these tantrums out of nowhere because he has trapped gas & the only way he calms down is if I pick him up and walk around the house or rock him I've been giving him gas drops that the doctor prescribed but I don't think it's helping much I don't know what else to do he's really good all day & than at night he acts up and wakes up in the middle of the night too many times crying cause he's in pain , help me ladies 😳🤔🙄😑😫

advice needed! my 7 year old son still wets the bed at least 3 times a week, I've taken him to see a specialist and he's fine, but nothing helps I don't allow him to drink anything after 6pm, I make him use the restroom before bed and I wake him up in the middle of the night and he still wets his self, my 4 year old son never be any accidents and this is just so frustrating should I punish him because I don't feel like he even tries to avoid wetting his self

I told him he gets 3 oz at 7pm they ended up not giving him the 3 oz till 7:30 and we got there at 8:30 to pick him up and was feeding him again I lost my mind it pisses me off bc he has a schedule and they totally didn't listen
