Flu vaccine... Yes or no and why?

No. Ask to read the inserts for any vaccine you get. If they deny you that right I would walk out. All patients are entitled to see what is being injected into them.

Yes for us because i have a 3mth old. My son prone to getting it so is dad. My mother had almost died from the flu. Normally not too concerned but my son always gets sick and if it could help him it be good and i don't want my baby getting it

Nope that's the only vaccine I'd say don't get while pregnant

I got the flu shot every year since I could remember I have yet to get the flu

I get the shot for my lo who are under 5 because it can kill them if they get it so far so good.

I say get it I get that many people say you many get the flu but if your not dying or your love ones are not dying from it which is a possibility it’s better to be safe than sorry

I get them every single pregnancy and I will again my appointment is actually Tuesday for it..its not worth risking being pregnant with the flu it can cause death to baby and baby is protected a few months after birth from you getting the shot..definitely worth it

Yes !!! 80;000 people died from the flu last year and I’m not risking my family to be one of them bc we are to stupid not to get a shot 😊

That’s the one shot I won’t do. My kids and I don’t get the flu shot and not once have we ever had the flu! When I got it, I got the flu and had to miss work for a week years ago. I thought I was dying. Obviously, do what you feel is right for your family!!

Yes we do, children have a higher risk of serious complications or even death from the flu. That alone makes it an easy decision.

I get them all my kids do as well.

@wvgirl, last year was a particularly bad year for the flu. I got it too. But it would have been a lot worse if I hadn’t gotten the flu shot. It’s up to you, but you asked for yes or no and I was just giving my answer.

@wvgirl, im sorry. That sucks. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. People who get it do get the flu sometimes. But there are a large amount of people who say they got the flu when it was in fact not truly the flu.

Yes! Yes! And more yes! I have a preemie (who is two today!) She is still on oxygen at night and not very good at fighting illness. She’s had complications with rsv. So I take every precaution. We all get the flu shot and I ask anyone who spends a lot of time with her to also be up to date.

Yes. But I’m in healthcare so I have a much higher chance of contracting any sort of sickness being around it all the time. And a lot of people say they still get the flu after having the shot. That is not necessarily true because yes they were sick but they most likely didn’t have the actual flu. Trust me you will know if you have the actual flu. You will feel like death.

@wvgirl a girl I work with got the flu shot last year and ended up with both strains.

My family and I are anti flu shots. Theirs no possible way they can pin point every strain into the vaccine so your fucked. And they inject the flu virus in u. I feel your body should build up its own immunity to fight it off.

I got one last Friday for the first time ever and on Monday I had an acute upper respiratory infection..might be a coincidence but I've never been this sick in my entire life so I will never get one again.

@jewlmama i'm iffy about it because my aunt almost died from the vaccine some years back and it's been proven that it can cause miscarriages

Yes! Because even though they have to guess which strain(s) will be our this winter, it’s a shot at protecting yourself and your family. I’d rather not have the flu and possible complications like pneumonia .. nope. Flu shot & correct handwashing all fall & winter 🙌 oh and don’t forget to clean your phones people. Waaay dirtier than you’d think.
