twins
So I just found out this morning I'm having twins, a big shock for us. I'm due in September and my son will be 2 in September. I know I've got a lot of time to figure everything out, but how am I going to have time for my son and the twins. Me and my son r very close and he's very very attached to me. If I'm around he doesn't go to anyone even if he knows them alot. I also want to ebf the twins for at least a year how can I do that with twins? Will it be possible?
My mum got pregnant with twins when I was 4 months old! She said that my brothers were quite in tune with each other though and sort of formed their own pattern where one would wait for the other.
She did end up having to put me in full time nursery though but there was only 13 months between us, and my youngest brother has severe cerebral palsy, plus there was no family to help her out.
I think the thought of twins is quite scary but when you think that they will provide so much comfort for each other that will help immensely.
Congrats! You must be overwhelmed but it will be ok. Do you have family that could help? I only had one baby but my daughter has adjusted well. Much better than I expected bc she is super attached too. The biggest help would be someone that could get him out of the house and to the park or some place to release his energy. I never really left my daughter until she was 19 months and the baby was born. Now she goes with my in laws a few times a week and has a great time! They love spending time with her and I'm sure she loves the attention. Best of all, they tire her out. Do you have a LLL group around you? I went at the beginning of my pregnancy and the leader hooked me up with moms that tandem nursed before. It was helpful having their support and hearing their experiences. Maybe you could meet some moms if twins. I was friends with twins when I was growing up. They were so amazingly close that I always wished I had a twin.
The ultrasound tech thinks they are fraternal but she can't comfort it so I gotta wait for the maternal doctor does an ultrasound.
You can do it! I suggest finding twin parents groups and seeking out other AP moms with twins. They are rare but out there! And you can hire a post partum doula whole specializes in twins to help you right when you get home and get you off to a good start. Good thing you have 8 months to figure it out :)
Wow! What a shock. I learned after my son was born he was supposed to be a twin.
You'll be able to produce enough milk if you nurse on demand. I only feed my baby off one boob and by 6 weeks he'd gained 4 lbs and grew 3 inches. So you can produce enough for each. My lc told me most moms pick one boob for each kid or offer one side one day and the other side the next day.
Wow! Congrats!
I was scared of twins too, especially because my MIL is a twin. I was relieved when we saw one baby, one heartbeat.
I'm sure everything will work itself out though :) you'll be a busy mama, but once you get there I'm sure you wouldn't change it for the world.
Good luck, I hope you have a smooth pregnancy :)
How exciting (and scary I'm sure)!
I know of moms who have ebf twins so it definitely can be done.
However, most twin moms praise schedule as their savior of sanity, rather than following the AP on demand style.
It will be crazy and exhausting no doubt, but so fun when they're all big enough to play together :)
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
I know this sounds sooo fkedup but sometimes i wanna get into a bad accident so my husband sees exactly all the things i do ... and how wrong he is by saying i don’t do enough ( not in those words but the jist of it ) anyway .... i think this all the time . Maybe then he will think differently .
Congrats!
