Just refuse, it's your right. How many weeks are you?

Your cramping was most likely due to your uterus shrinking - and will probably occurs again.

Pitocin has a pretty short half life - around 70 min if I remember correctly. So it would be out of your system pretty quickly.

If you don't want to be induced but have the baby - your other option would be c-section.

It all depends on the state but after 42 weeks refusing induction/c-section can be considered child endangerment and refusing to have one would be "AMA - against medical advice". CPS could be involved. But then again it all depends on the state and your personal circumstances- every case is different.

Where I am (West coast Canada) they won't usually even offer induction till 41+3 most hospitals are more natural in my area and would let you go over that if you passed a NST test at 41+3 the chances of you going over 42 would be pretty slim if you have all your dates correct and your active.

You can refuse any medical procedure as well as medications you don't want at any time. At least here in canada. They I'll advice you what the repercussions will be. My doctor doesn't like patients to go more than one week past thee due date but I can still refuse an induction if I want. I would probably want to be induced since I know that the placenta can start to deteriorate after a certain time. Also I had multiple miscarriages so I would feel safer with my baby in my arms. If you wouldn't want to be induced you would just wait for it to happen naturally.
