I feel like a single mom emotionally through this pregnancy! My partner won't engage much when it comes to talking to the baby. He says he thinks it's weird. He's a musician and he somehow can't find time to play her some guitar or anything. It's always a quick hi baby and good night baby, he's so distant even with me. I've been telling myself I should work at this relationship for my baby's sake but it's really really difficult when I know I wouldn't be with him if it wasn't for our baby. I am grateful he wants this baby and has stuck around to help but I can't stop feeling like we aren't meant to be together.

Sorry emotional rant :/

I think it's a guy thing. My hubby had a really hard time connecting with the baby when I was pregnant because he couldn't see it and feel it. Once my son was born it was like a complete change. He was so in love and involved because it was suddenly real to him.

@katiehofer01 communication is so important, I'm happy you've found a steady flow of it. Thanks for sharing your story and it's amazing to see and admire such strong women thank You!

Yeah for sure, it wasn’t my first miscarriage so it was a bit easier for me, and he was very insensitive towards the whole situation. We’ve developed so much communication over the last few months just takes time.

@katiehofer01 It's Understandable that a loss like that could make it hard for him to get excited again. This was my issue as well. What they need to understand is that we too had gone through that loss and we need there support more now than ever. We r scared too but that doesnt change the fact that a baby is coming right now.

My partner is very distant too, he once said to me he doesn’t want to show his excitement because we lost our first one before I got pregnant with this one. I’ve freaked out on him a few times saying that I need him to be a part of it. He’s slowly getting better, I hope your man comes around.

Wow that's crazy, you're so strong. It's nice he came around eventually, I hope mine will soon too. I'll ignore it too and focus on my health, thanks for sharing

He was the same...maybe worse. I know its something hes always wanted but he totally closed up. He could barely talk abt it. It was hard for me. But I tried to ignore it so I can focus on being healthy and having a positive pregnancy. He came around when i was about 7 months.

@pnutbutta yes it's his first baby, I know it's crazy how much we have to go through as women.. our strength is amazing!! Yea once he sees her he will participate, just wish he had a bigger picture type of perspective you know? How was your partner with your first baby?

I understand what you are going through. Is this his first child? He could just be nervous and not be able to communicate that to you. It's annoying as hell but I'm sure more bonding will take place once the baby is here.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Will your Mom be in the delivery room?

Will your Mom be in the delivery room? My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.

Mamas I really need some advice or just a listening ear, I really don't know what to do, or if I'm overreacting, but my baby's father and I are together, when we met and I got pregnant he was here working, he went back to work out of town after I found out I was pregnant and only comes back once a month, he supports me financially, which was mostly his choice bc he makes good money, we are doing fine on money.. but I'm almost 31 weeks and as I get closer I'm really worried about raising my daughter on my own, he plans to continue to come back only once a month even when she is born and it really scares me, even though I know we will need the money since I won't be working, I still feel like I'm going to be alone raising our daughter, when we talk about it all he has to say is he doesn't see any other way, but he's never lived here, let alone had a job here, and I know of so many places where he could get a job easily when he's here for one of his monthly visits and he just keeps saying that he can't quit his job and move here without having a stable job, and I keep telling him he can, find a job before he quits this one, but yet he's not even trying to find a job when he's here, he hasnt researched job openings or called anywhere, sometimes I feel like he's just comfortable with what is happening and it really hurts me to think about my daughter not having him here, and raising her alone, for one he's never been around a baby, doesnt have a clue how to raise one, and has never even HELD a baby, so I feel like if he only comes back once a month then he's never going to learn how to help with her, let alone know her, and her recognize him when he is here... every time we talk about it, it just turns into an argument and I'm to the point where I feel like I'm wasting my breathe... I just really don't know what to do, I'm scared, and need help and I feel like he doesn't wanna risk anything by moving here when I really need him. am I overreacting??? btw don't get me wrong, I'm beyond grateful for him, with everything he does, and all the financial support he provides, but I've never been "taken care of" (for lack of better words) and I would rather work too, just to have him here to help me and be with his daughter and sometimes I feel like that's not an option to him... it's really depressing me and scaring me. don't be afraid to tell me if I sound like a spoiled bitch or something, I honestly need yalls HONEST OPINION. 😞
