If you want to make your body produce more you can power pump. Pump for 10 minutes. Give yourself a 10 minute break. Pump for another 10. Give yourself a 20 minute break. Pump for 10 more minutes. It'll make your body think it needs to produce more milk, so when you pump you'll get more out of it.

@thingy2005, not really. Your baby will establish your supply through nursing. If you want to power pump for instant increase, then you should pump on a schedule. You can Google how often.

@concrete I was told your supply won't grow if you're not pumping every two to three hours

This is a good amount. Your baby cannot yet have that much in one sitting. As your baby grows,so will your supply.

If you're pumping that every 2 hours you should be good. Newborns drink about 2 onces every 2-3 hours.

Breast pump covered by insurance

I've already done what I needed to find out what type of pump I get covered through insurance. It turns out, with my insurance, I can't even get my pump shipped to me until I call them with all the birth details of my baby. So...wth am I supposed to do having a baby and no pump?! I plan to pump exclusively and this REALLY throws a wrench in my plans.

babybump_user You may want to ask your doctor for a prescription for a hospital grade pump if you
may042017 I will be ordering the Medela Pump in Style. I'm pretty sure my insurance covers either that
