I need advice. My best friend will be going back to work when her son is 12 weeks. She has asked me to babysit every Tuesday since she can't afford daycare. She said she would cook my family dinners on Tuesday. At first I just assumed I was doing this for free I didn't even think about money.. at all (maybe because I'm a good friend) but my mom said right away "well she better be paying you" now it's making me second guess whether or not I should be compensated . It will be every Tuesday for who knows how long. I mean would you do this for free? She said she would make us dinner at least. I don't know... I don't really feel comfortable asking anyway. :-(
Maybe try trading. You watch her baby on Tuesday's and she watches yours for a grocery trip or a date night once a week.
@mamahood I definitely agree with beebaby I mean if she is your bf then u should be able to voice your opinions 2 her. Im sure u guys have both done stuff 4 each other for free or for cheap because of the friendship and I wouldn't let your mom or anyone else make u think like u need to charge her unless u really think u need to be paid. At the end of the day u and her just talk cuz simple things like this can ruin friendships.. good luck mama
i wouldnt think about money if it was my best friend... its only one day.
@beebaby, @chelseaepley, @mommajessica89, @neikadre, @renee556, Thank you ladies !!! I totally agree I should do what I feel is right and initially I wasn't expecting any sort of payment . whenever I need a babysitter or someone to let my dog out when I'm away I'm sure she would be willing . She lives 8 minutes from my house so it's not like a far drive :) plus my son is only around adults all the time so this will be good for him!
