Husband or child?!?! I was watching Oprah and this woman was asked if her car went into a lake and she could only save…

I'd save my child, no question about it. I love my hubby but a child is helpless and as a mom it's my responsibility to do everything in my power to keep them safe. I could never live with myself if I didn't do that.

I would choose my children over my hub even though I love him dearly, but saving him to help you save kids sounds like a good idea too!

Well I will have two kids and I would have to agree... save hubby so he can help me save the kids :)

I agree with Jenn I know I'd pick my child before husband but I don't know if I could choose between my 2 boys. Ugh what a horrible thought!

I would save my child(ren). I can always get a new husband! And without 9mos of pregnancy, too lol. I do not feel bad at all that it would be my decision

My children. And I'd expect my husband to do the same. The hardest thing would be if I could only get one of my kids. That's a decision I don't know if I could make.

The thought of this makes me feel sick :( but I'd chose my son without a doubt. its my responsibility as his mummy to protect him and the thought of him not being here is the worst thing I can imagine. My so would want and expect me to do the same, he would also save our son.

I would save my child. And my so would defiantly save our child.

I would do everything I could to save everyone, but if it came down to not being able to, my husband would NEVER let me take him first. And I would totally understand as I would do the same in his shoes. There would be an unspoken understanding that I have to take them first and I'll do everything humanly possible to get back for him. If one of us saved the other's life at the expense of one our children, honestly neither of us would ever recover and there would be no 'happy family starting over'.

My son without even having to think about it! A child is helpless. It is your job as a parent to protect your kids.

My husband says things like that though. About how if something terrible were to happen, we would be able to start again. Not replace, just have more. I see what he is saying, but it kills me to think about. It would be an awful situation that many people have had to experience. The little colon frown doesn't quite seem to do it for the end of this.

Id save both. Id grab my 7 week old and grab df and since he can swim im sure hed save himself but if he couldnt mama bear would come out and I would save both. Leaving either of them behind isnt an option. If we happened to have our dds with us I have two arms and a back for a reason dd1 is old enough to hold on as well as my sd. So that would leave jr in my arm who id be holding, sd and dd holdin on in the other arm and df on my back. But we only ever have ds so that would be cake:)

I think in the end most women would instinctively save their children. but they would forever live with the guilt of basically allowing their loved one to die. (at least I would) id desperately want to save both and if I couldn't I, not sure id be able to muster the ability to still be a good mom full of life and love afterwards.

I hate choosing and thinking about it! I guess what bothered me was her reason. "I can just make more"... Like her children are just replaceable!! Yuck!

Since my hild is small i could grab both , one or the other is not an option to me.

I hate questions like this. Of course you're going to want to save both an you'll feel bad for choosing one person over the other. But like a previous poster said- you could save your husband to help you save the child. I can't imagine being in a situation like that because id want to save both.
