I am kinda nervous to post this on here because of how girls from another app treated me and others. So fingers crossed this does not back fire in my face. So I am 37 weeks. I went to my OB this past Wednesday for my weekly checkup and she told me that I am 70% thinned and 2 cm. Question is am I going to go into labor before my due date July 21st if I am 70% thinned? Thank you ladies!

Thank you @phinnybinz I appreciate when people see my words for what they are. Everyone here is grown and will choose their own path, but that's not going to stop me from trying my best to help women understand what's important in hopes of having a healthier baby. I don't care how anyone looks at it. I give facts backed up by studies, not my opinion.
I'm glad she speaks up when people talk about self induction. That's the main time I see her speak up and people need to hear blunt honesty when they're 36 weeks and talking about trying to do things at home to start labour. Which would be outside of their doctors advice. There is nothing wrong with her giving people honesty to try and keep them and their babies safe. Why would anyone come down on her for that?? No, she doesn't know their medical history. No, she's not a doctor. It doesn't take a medical degree to know certain things. @arivera64 thanks for speaking up honestly and giving unbiased information.
Again, it's not about the induction itself. I usually see her ask why they're inducing before she says anything else, so if they say it's for medical reasons, there's no reason to say anything else. And she's always kind when saying it. If it were that simple, then there wouldn't still be doctors telling women that full term for healthy babies is 36-37 weeks. Neither of us is judging - just providing info based on research and what's average for healthy babies.
Can we not just all get along? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just because someone says something they believe is right doesn't mean everyone is going to jump on the gravy train and do it. People will do what they want regardless of what we say on here they will go with what the person who spent years in college is going to say. Can we please stop arguing or bickering?
It's every time someone says something about an induction on this app she makes them feel like they're wrong.. That's the point. And it's not for you or her to say when it is safe. That's for your dr you do not know anyone's medical history so if their dr is saying they're able to have an induction it's for a reason.. It's really that simple.
@ashsanta, she said nothing about inductions here except when it's safer to have them done-when baby is full term. And no, a doctor would not say that, but truthfully, not all doctors practice safely. They may tell patients what they believe even if research proves otherwise. I'd rather someone say something to me than me saying something they did that's not safe and no one speaks up.
I didn't judge. ...i supplied information and I'm more than relaxed @ashsanta but I'll leave it at that. I'll continue to spread knowledge and continue my journey to helping women have better births and healthier babies. Take care.

It's not for you to constantly judge and say something to every woman on this app that wants an induction. I'm glad you're a doula and you're trying to help but relax with it everyone's entitled to do as they please with their bodies and obviously if it isn't safe their dr won't let them do it, I don't think I've ever been to or worked with a dr that said lets induce you bc you aren't ready and it'll be super harmful to your child.
@ashsanta, every doc and every patient is different absolutely, but that doesn't change the FACT that studies prove babies are most developed and ready at 39 weeks. If i can help ppl not have inductions before then by giving them knowledge and empowerment then that's what I'll do even if it means ppl will judge me for thinking I'm opinionated etc. I want women to have healthy babies. I'm a doula. Giving women knowledge and empowerment over their bodies and births is my passion.
Wait I'm confused. Your due when I am. But they are inducing you 6 days after your due date? Are they doing it incase you don't go into labor before or by your due date? @pups011
I work in a body shop so I am always walking around, I am parts manager so they moved me from the shop where there is no air conditioning to inside. So now I sit here at the desk all day instead of them letting me lift doors, hoods etc the techs do it. I feel useless now ): I'm glad I get to sit more because my round ligament pain and my hips hurting but my back kills me by the end of the day. mm domke22
I've been 50% thinned since 25 weeks and was on bed rest also high risk.. but my Dr scheduled an induction for July 26th. my due date is also the 21st congrats mama
Does everything on this app have to turn into a know it all session? Every dr is different every patient is different.
yess so id say start walking alot more. Ino alot of women are in alot of pain at your point in pregnancy. but I was still working at 37 wks always on my feet and I think that's what really helped me labor so fast. I had her within 3 hrs of arriving at the hospital lol

babies are not fully developed until 39 weeks @smb_mommy and a doctor cannot induce labor before 39 weeks without medical cause because of that reason. All doctors are not always right. Doctors learn what they're taught. If they do not follow the new studies and continue the old ways, they can cause issues. The college of gynecologist and obstetrics has stated fill term is no longer 37 weeks as of a few yrs ago.
good luck hunny! I had no signs of labor until about 3 days before I had my daughter. it could happen at anytime I'd say from here on out! :) I really can't remember how thinned out or dilated I was when I was checked but I wasnt too progressed and then BAM labor started lol. (just some positive words to ya)

Well my doctor told me if I am up to 100% thinned that they can induce me if I wish to be. I feel like if dilating takes that long then being induced and waiting for 8 cm is going to be the death of me labor wise. Especially if the epidural only last so long.
fill term is actually 39 to 40wks @smb_mommy although most babies born at 37 weeks are healthy
according to doctors, 37weeks is full term so even if you do go into labor now, you'll be okay!
Oh my goodness! I mean don't get me wrong I want him to bake a little longer. But I'm starting to get jealous of my friends who was suppose to be due a week before me (2friends should I say) an already have their sweet babies at home with them ): I just want to snuggle and love on him!!! Lol. Sorry if I sound selfish.
no mam not always, you may completely effaced (thin out) but you may stay dilated at 2 cm for weeks or longer.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?

I swear y’all kill me when people ask questions about THEIR child. If my child is 4m or 5m & I put a little cereal in the bottle it’s nothing wrong with it at all. NOTHING , especially if his doctor already gave me the go ahead. My god, each one teach their own though.

I'm also due July 21st, I am currently 1cm and 70% effaced. My doctor told me that it could happen tomorrow or I could go until 41 weeks... Either way they won't induce me unless I'm over 40 weeks, but at this point they won't stop my labor if it comes on its own. I'm not high risk either.. everyone is different, so honestly it's just the waiting game now, but I totally feel you on not rushing it but so impatient and ready to have them in your arms.. Both my sister in laws have had their babies in the past 3 weeks, so I'm ready to have mine in my arms as well!
