You have to prove that it is in the baby's best interest to be with you. If you get a good family lawyer they will ask questions to the father that will show the kind of parent he is. Don't focus on bashing him or trying to bullshit the judge because they see through it, just be honest and show your baby's best interest comes before you and that you're doing what is best for them. We had eight months between the time he filed and the time we went to court so I used my resources to do parenting classes, become a CNA and update my CPR certification which also helped me. @jasminemaye

While I understand why you want to get a hold of him and it should be done rather quickly, it won't matter who files first... My bd filed first and so he technically sued me... I still won and have full custody @jasminemaye
Call again. I wouldn't stop by just in case the lawyer isn't there or busy. 99% of the time you need an appointment
