since everyone tells me I hold my daughter too much I guess I will never Hold her unless I'm feeding her.

It's hard. My parents hate that I still rock my son to sleep but I love it and I also don't believe in the cry it out method and omg the hell I get for that lol but I'm happy and my son and I have the strongest bond ever and I believe it is because of my "bad" decisions (what a lot of society thinks) but best decisions I've ever made!

yeah and I had everyone telling me to have my baby sleep in the bassinet and she sleeps soo much better with me. @ilyric

You're most welcome! Honestly, my baby boy slept on our chests until he was 16 weeks old.
RobbieМногодетная мама (6 детей)
my 11 mth old boy is very independent and we've done attachment parenting since birth. :) @sarahdrew @jasminemaye have faith, everything you are doing is right. Hold that baby as often as you want, they're only small for a little while. :)

@ilyric, thank you for posting that, I wish I had seen that right after I had my daughter..... my husband kept trying to tell me "oh you will spoil her" or "just lay her in her bassinet and let her cry" I was dumbfounded we have a son who's 2 and he never said that about him... he said "Easton didn't cry this much" so I yelled at him and said "EVERY BABY IS DIFFERENT DAMNIT" and picked our daughter up

The first 3 mths after birth is babies adjustment period from womb to world. They need much more attention and holding.
JasmineМама двоих (младенец)
right. her dad won't even change her diapers. don't tell Me what to do things. @sarahdrew what's 4th trimester? @ilyric
Sarah DrewМама двоих (младенец)
I am in the same boat, altho my husband doesn't bathe her sometimes, so when my husband says something like "oh she's gonna be spoiled" I just look at him and say "I'm with her 24/7 don't tell me how to do anything"
RobbieМногодетная мама (6 детей)
Your child, hold her as much as you want. DO NOT listen to anyone tell you different, attachment patenting actually instills a very independent, trusting child in the long run! Also there is what they call the 4th trimester.
JasmineМама двоих (младенец)
I know I'm the one who feeds her, the one who changes her, I bathe her, I get up with her at night no one else. it just makes me more.upset. @sarahdrew @krista15

I understand, you feel like they are undermining you and putting your parenting skills down.... keep your head up mama you are doing great and hold and cuddle that baby all you want
JasmineМама двоих (младенец)
it just makes me want to cry since everyone judges my parenting. @krista15
Sarah DrewМама двоих (младенец)
hold that baby as much as you want to, she is your baby not anyone else's.... mama you do what you want, don't let anyone dictate how you raise or take care of that baby
JasmineМама двоих (младенец)
well it seems like every one judges my parenting. "don't hold her so much" "have her sleep in the bassinet" you're not the one taking care of her...@edomke,

don't listen people use to say the same thing to me and to i kindly said I'm her mother
EmilyМама сына-младенца
Omg I hold my son all the time and he's 8 months old I really don't care what people say cuz it's my baby. Don't worry what others think!
is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
Holding in her on pacifier
Do you ladies agree when people say not to hold a baby often because they'll get used to being held all the time? So they'll cry until someone holds them, my LO is going to be 3 weeks and I hold her often but I don't like her crying if I put her down so I just hold her and some people tell me not to because then she'll always cry if she's put down.
Babygirl was born at 8:16am this morning. She was breathing really fast, had respiratory distress and they brought her up to the nursery to put her on oxygen and run some tests. I was only able to see her for a couple minutes, but haven't been able to hold her yet. I'm exhausted and trying to rest as much as I can so I have energy for my babygirl when I am able to hold and breastfeed her.
Is anyone else dead protective over their baby? My OH has a big family and they all want to come and see her which I get but I really struggle letting people hold her and pass her around without her being with me inbetween :(
