having him by himself is the only way I can think of. Having him not be with other kids until he learns, even if it takes a while

Does he have a favorite toy or activity that you can take away when he's bad?

My mom used to hit me to show me hitting hurts and I learned. Same with hair pulling. She would pull my hair and I learned it hurts so I stopped.

I know it sounds awful, but I was raised this way too. when my nephew started hitting, my sister started snaking him back in the same place he smacked her and told everyone who watched him to do the same. obviously not hard enough to hurt him or anything, just enough to make him think twice about hitting people.

@aleighasmommy1113, I don't want to spank him because that's, in a way, showing him it's okay to hit when we are angry and it's not okay

My parents always spanked then put me in time out.

Time out doesn't work with him. We tried that to begin with and nothing. 😩

whenever I would watch other people's kids and they would hit. I would take their hand and pet my cheek and tell them to be soft, and tell them hitting is naughty. and if he keeps doing it put him in time out
