Sooo.. My OB office just called and said I needed to come in tomorrow instead of Friday for a RhoGAM injection because my blood type is O Negative.. Has anyone else had this? Any side effects? Should I be worried? The doctors secretary said she couldn't tell me much about it or anything and the doc could answer any questions tomorrow. HELP fellow Preggie mamas! 😃

✋✋ don't be worried. it hurts like a bitch, but ask to get it in your butt. I know it sounds silly, but you'll thank me

No experience with it, but it's because your blood and babies blood are not compatible. The shots help so that your body doesn't reject the baby

I just got mine last week. I got mine in my arm. Didn't hurt and I didn't have any side effects.

@emily18234, okay good! the doctor left me a voicemail saying it was important and that it couldnt wait until my Friday appointment.. I guess they want to make sure I get it ASAP in case I was to go into labor? I'm a hypochondriac so I've been freaking out lmao! As long as it's normal and won't hurt the baby I'll be fine.. I will deff ask though.. Do they give you an option on where they inject?

It's very important! Just means you and your baby might have a different blood type. The shot prevents your body from making antibodies against your baby!

I had to have one halfway through with my son and one at delivery.

I've had it twice actually! All is it is a precautionary action in case your baby has a different blood type and for future pregnancies as well😊 I didn't have side effects for either one

yeah, I've had it 2 or 3 times this pregnancy. typically it's done around 28 weeks, then of you have abdominal trauma. the first baby typically doesn't cause the issue, the issue arises during delivery and subsequent pregnancies. you'll be tested after delivery and given another one, but you're so far along, it might cover it

@emily18234, i've read online its given in the third trimester.. Why are they just now telling me? lol Are you supposed to get it more than once before you deliver? She did mention having to get one after delivery too.. So the one after delivery is for future pregnancies even though it only lasts a couple weeks? Sorry, you might not know these answers but google tends to have me freaking out sometimes LOL

@emily18234, just curious about the timing since i'll be 39 weeks on Friday and just now am being told about it.. I've had so much blood work done, you'd think they would have told me sooner.

nope I get it. I can't say why they never gave it to you til now, it depends when you get it. I had to get one at 25 weeks because of my son jumping on me, so they were going to give me one right before I gave birth, but I had to get a second one due to a car accident, so I'm good until after birth.

and basically, once the baby is out, you get a shot so you're not "reactive" or until you're not reactive. (hard to explain, but til you don't have the antibodies in your blood) once the baby is out, there's no foreign blood, so no chance to become reactive.

I had to get 2 or 3 shots after my c-section with my son

also, of your baby is rh- you will not need one after delivery.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

IUI Monday!! So today I went in for my routine bloodwork and ultrasound, and found out that I have three follicles at 17mm! Plus another two at 15mm. When leaving the clinic my FS said to take another dose of gonal-f and come back tomorrow to check to see how big they got and that we would do the iui on Wednesday. Well, after getting home, taking my gonal-f and going out to shovel snow (lol) I get a call saying that I am SURGING!!! I haven't ovulated on my own, or even come close to it in years!!! It was a good thing we picked up a trigger shot before we left too :-)
