We're expecting baby boy in May on the 1st.
What are your thoughts on whether to circumcise or to not circumcise?
I would! My brother didn't get circumcised and started to get infections and he always pulled his skin back to clean it and had to get circumcised at 4/:
my husband is not and we decided that for our first we were going to do it is so much easier according to,him and now for this one we are also doing it ☺
I'm doing it hopefully before I leave the hospital. I'm more comfortable with it being done based on my own research, religious opinions, and comfortability. My hubby is circumcised so I don't see why not. And no one can change my mind lol
@dohmommy2016, I also read that the rate for infection is 10 times higher but only less than 1% are actually infected so I was indifferent about it.
Due may 11th. we are not going to circumcise. my hubby isn't and I have read up alot of it and are not going to. Don't want him different than his dad and the likely hood of infection at least according to books I have read isn't too great. With my hubs family as well they are European so they don't get it done.
Haha yes girls aren't as difficult but boys come with a lot more than we'd expect
@pkizajona, if your other is circumcised then I would say do it only because somebody has to teach him how to clean it and if daddy doesn't have "it" to clean then there is no way to teach it (I only assume, I've never had to actually do it and thank goodness I'm having a girl 😝)
I feel that way too @nicolerawrr my dh was circumcised so I don't want our son to ask why they have different looks. It's difficult to teach and sensitive to talk about
I mean they could always get it done later in life if they wanted too, I personally am going to leave it up to my son to decide what he wants to do with it. :P sounds weird I know
I am Jewish so my religion says I should however my SO is not circumcised and we spoke about it and if we were having a boy I would NOT have him cut. Simply because I didn't want him to shower one day with daddy and ask why his was different :(
Yeah that's what I mentioned to my husband. We're busy people and it'll make tending to him easier. I agree that circumcision comes with less infections! Thank you mamas for your input!!!
😊
I'm getting my son's done before we leave the hospital..I just don't want to risk getting any infections.
If I have a boy me and boyfriend didn't even have to discuss it. We are forsure getting him circumcised
My doctor and I haven't gotten to taking about whether to circumcise or not. My husband is indifferent about it but I'm the one who wants an opinion although I think either way it'll be fine
We were thinking along of the lines to circumcise as well but I've got a faint heart and I hate boo boos.
Yay to being may mommies!!
@pkizajona, both of my boys are circumsized ita easier to keep clean. my cousin did not with her twins and one of them got a really bad infection and has to go to the doc
I didn't have my son circumcised only because they charged $400 that insurance didn't cover but he's 6 now and we've never had any issues. @pkizajona
