I’m having a boy and will not get it done. Americans have this fascination that it looks better or it’s better overall. If he didn’t need it he wouldn’t have it.

@selandriac Right! Just do your research & if your into praying, pray about it! Every mom on here ABSOLUTELY LOVE their babies & we all want to do what is right. We may not all agree on certain things but we all agree on wanting what is best for our child 😘

@yatyat, Nd that’s one reason I wanna get my son done and from seeing others stories about infections and my research and then your story about being teased I witnessed a boy getting his done in high school and he said he wish his mom got it done as a baby

@momtothe3rdpower, everybody has there opinion as I stated if u are going to judge what others moms did or are going to do for there son then DONT COMMENT period it’s there baby and they can do as they please everybody has stated there reasons and no problem but u are making it seem like it’s a bad thing it’s your opinion don’t knock others ‼️

@momtothe3rdpower & I understand that. My teeth were messed up as a kid. My mom had health insurance but she never did anything about it. I was teased a lot growing up! I was insecure & did not like smiling. As an adult I was able to pay to have my teeth fixed myself but tbh I resented my mother for not doing it when I was little. But again I get where you're coming from. Now I on the other hand would believe that everything is "situational" so as far as circumcisions or extra digits I would take care of that before they would even have any memory of it. But I can't say what I would do in other circumstances.

And yeah they might not remember it but it’s traumatic effect on their brain never goes away.

@yatyat, have you read the studies about the infants getting circumcised in mri machines? They did a study on the effects of circumcision on the brain. They looked at the brain function before during and after circumcision and the extreme pain actually changed the way the brain functioned before the procedure and the brain didn’t return to normal post circumcision. Babies experience pain just like adults do. But the difference is that they don’t understand why they’re being held down and cut on whereas an adult consents and understands and can take narcotics.

1st I want to say that I respect everyone's opinion! I am pregnant with my 4th boy & they all are/will be circumcised as is their father. To me I never looked at it as "my right" but because I am the parent & it is my responsibility to do what I believe is best for my children. I believe that having them circumcised is the best thing for my boys. I know the risks & I believe that the benefits outweighs the risks. I also want to say that I am a surgical tech & have assisted a numerous circumcisions on both infants & adults & I will tell u that in my experience it is better to have it done while they are babies with no memory of the event versus having it done as an adult & being in agony for 2-6 weeks. But again to each it's own 🤷🏽‍♀️

@yatyat, yeah. Not my body to cut on period. Whether it’s an extra toe or a big ole mole on their forehead, once they can give their consent to have their body altered that’s when it’ll get removed 🤷🏼‍♀️

No. I personally feel like altering someone’s body without their consent isn’t morally right. I also feel genital mutilation whether it is to a male or a female is wrong. My son has the same rights as my daughters. Studies also show the infection rates are literally almost identical. And there are also studies about the extreme and traumatic pain that circumcision causes.

My son is circumcised . He didn’t cry when he got the procedure done and it healed up nicely. I am getting my son I’m about to have circumcised .

If I have boys, my husband and I will circumcise them. Aside from our personal religious beliefs, we have a nephew who’s is almost 10 and is constantly getting infections and having other problems. Even when they make sure he’s cleaning the foreskin properly he still had problems and is miserable. I think the are considering doing a circumcision in the near future. It’s just not worth a lifetime of pain when a simple procedure that they’ll never remember can fix the problem. However I do believe that every parent has the right to chose what’s right for their family.

Also I’m not in the states and circumcision is very uncommon here. Funnily enough we aren’t surrounded by grown men hobbling around with gangrenous penises due to keeping their foreskin lol.

@selandriac, yea my neighbors son slept through his Circumcision and never made any fuss after. It was healed in 5 days. I think it’s more tragic for us to have it done to them lol.

@mamabird228 no they didn't just gaze and Vaseline. I've been hearing they use the plastibell but they didn't with him. I was told it depends on what type procedures they do but idk.

@mamabird228 doesn't sounds bad at all. It just looked bad. I felt so bad afterwards but it's been a few days and it has gotten alot better already. Yeah the pics above idk what was going on there I didn't exiperience nothing like that.

@selandriac, it definetly changed mine lol also my husband it’s not. He never had a problem with UTIs or anything. It’s a matter of keeping it clean

Look for this post on FB! It helped me make my decision this time. My first got it done, but during the healing process I felt bad. Specially when he will pee. This time I wasn’t in peace thinking I had to make a choice again. Saw this post last night and now I’m in peace lol. My second one will not have it done 😬

My son is and I plan on getting my second son done too. My cousin got it done when he was in middle school and omg it was the worst. He cried almost every night. Took him about 3-4 weeks to feel semi better.

Yes. My husband said he refuses to let our son feel insecure and have a smell down there. My husband got circumcised at 10yrs old and is thankful he did. Plus there are benefits of having it done. They have a lesser of a risk of getting stds compared to a guy that isn’t, penis cancer which is rare is lower of a risk, the hygiene is better, and less UTIs

My husband and I don’t agree with circumcision so our son is intact. Not my penis to be altering.

All 3 of mine are circumcised. My nephew got his done when he was either in kindergarten or first grade and man I felt so bad for him. He was in soooo much pain. My bil and his wife had him in Florida and instead of staying at the hospital to get it done, she wanted to rush and be home already. They put him in sooo much pain because of their own selfish wants. If your going to decide to do it, do it when he’s a baby and not when he gets older.

After doing research as well as discussing it with doctors, friends, family, and people that were not circumcised at birth, we decided it was in our child's best interest to get circumcised.

I have one boy and soon to have my 2nd both are not. I just feel it’s better but everyone has their own opinions ☺️

I left that choice up to my boyfriend with our son. We werent going to at first but my boyfriends cousin decided to get circumsized that same year just a few weeks before my son was due at the age of 24 and I've never seen a grown man cry as bad as he did for weeks because of the amount of pain he was in and how much he kept saying he wished it would have just been done when he was a baby. Collectively my boyfriend decided that doing it as a newborn outweighed all the potentially dangerous and painful things he'd go through as an adult. But again it most definitely a personal choice.

@selandriac Yes, it was a bit of an argument with my son's father and my great grandma, but I felt it was best after horror stories from people I personally know... I'm happy I did it- he didn't cry and within a week it was completely healed... If I had 5 more boys I'd do the same thing... Yes, when they're little you can control how clean they are- but let's face it- boys hit puberty and get lazy lol... Or even when they're 70yrs old- it might not be as easy for them to clean theirselves... Plus- it's a must to properly clean it after sex too... At times in life it will be more of an upkeep...

@selandriac So in my family- they're Puerto Rican, Italian, and Native American... My family for religious beliefs don't believe in getting your baby boy circumcised, but I'll explain to you why I did... Before I had my son- my brother, and a bunch of my family went on a camping trip- including my brother's 3yr old son (whom wasn't circumcised)... We came back from the camping trip and 2 days later my brother had to rush my nephew to the hospital bc his penis was swollen and he kept saying it hurt... Come to find out it was infected- due to camping and not be able to "properly" wash him... That was one reason... Another- my great uncle was in a nursing home- (for recovery issues) and he at his old age ended up with an infection as well... Doctor said- this can be common in older men whom aren't circumcised... And last- my cousins best friend at age 36 had to get a circumcision due to medical reasons... So with that said- I went against religion beliefs and had my son circumcised... The doctor said- she believed it was for the best as well... I rather get it done while he's a baby- rather than "God for bid" something happens when he's older and he'd have to do it then... It's done and over now- and he has (obviously) no memory of it....

We didn’t. My boyfriend isn’t so he didn’t want to. But like @squishymommy1, said not my penis. Not my choice. But there is no medical reason to get it done.

My son is, Ive heard horror stories of kids getting older and hating their parents for not doing it or them getting it done at an older age and the surgery was terrible for them and the recovery.

We have decided my son will not be circumcised as dad is not circumcised. I also will agree with Squishy it’s not my penis so it shouldn’t be my decision to make.
