Hey preggies! Anyone expecting a boy planning on circumcision or no circumcision? And what made you make your final decision on either?...
My 16 month old is intact (not circ'd). Here's a quick video about why circ is even practiced (hint: it's not for "sanitary" reasons) ссылка Still have more questions? Visit the Whole Network on Facebook.
circumcision. really left the decision up to my husband, but we have both agreed to it for hygienic reasons.
@adevlin2, no crap. the point of what I said wasn't to blame anyone for it. I'm saying situations can later make doctors want it done later in life regardless of who is to blame.
When I was pregnant with my son honestly that didn't even cross my mind. He is 3 years old never had an infection because since he was born I would pull his foreskin back all the time and he is fine. Perfect healthy little boy. So don't stress it. And if you feel like you want to do it let it be your decision and don't base it off on what people tell you.
I had a boy and I circumcised him at 6 weeks old. I have 3 boy cousins that aren't and I took care of 2 of them and no matter how much I showed the oldest how to clean it he still got.infections. Me and my hubby both decided it was the best for our son. I actually had my FIL come to me and tell us not to do it cause of the cons but it was our decision and we both felt it was a lot easier to teach him to care for it and less chance of infections for him and he wouldn't have to go through it when older if he decided he wanted it done.
And I'm saying its her fault . If a BABY is getting infections like that , then it's the person who supposed to be cleaning him fault 💁 @nicemmcha2015
@adevlin2, my sister did also at 2.. but the teenage years bring on new challenges and other things they are more concerned with.. all I'm saying is if you have to force him to wash it now what makes you think he will want to wash it himself.. also it might hurt him to push it back too far and rip just like she meantioned.. I'm sure that's more painful then the circumcision where they use lidocaine to numb the area before they cut
@adevlin2, no one said I was blaming being uncircumcised or her. I said due to it their doctor now wants it done. so yuh.
lol I highly doubt my kid would do that . He loves baths- he begs to shower and hes only 2 😴 @aphrodite2014
@adevlin2, they tried that and his skin ripped open from how tight it was and was bleeding a lot so they decided on doing the circumcision
@adevlin2, the only reason he feels it's uncomfortable is because he is used to having the skin there to protect it.. men who are circumcised don't have the sensitivity problem of it being uncomfortable
Yea some people skin just doesn't go back but not everybody . at 1 month my son skin was still tight and the doctor just pulled it down with his hand ! you just have to get it to stretch💁 @leylasmommy
@adevlin2, not all little boys will grasp that concept.. even if yall are clean people that need that yall are adults. my mom taught me and my sister the same and my sister just never brushed her hair shaved and had horrible BO throughout her teen years, because she didn't want to do any of it.. I however had no issues and have to shower not every kid will be the same even if they are taught the same..
Not having a boy but have a 14 month old didn't do a circumcision but he ended up medically need in it since his foreskin was so tight it would even go down the doctors were surprised he was even able to urinate. He had it done the day after his first birthday and trust me get it done at birth because it was NOT a good experience. They had to put him to sleep to do it and the fussiness was just so bad
@crazytoast, yea it isnt a big deal , they make it seem so horrible - circumsion hasnt always been aroun sooooo what about those times ! ... @nicemmcha2015 if you had those many infections she obviously wasn't cleaning her child right 💁 don't blame not being circumcised 😚
@taestasia, a yes girl! it looks more of a protectant to me so I prefer that - plus (tmi) but my bf foreskin comes down a little sometimes while walking and he complains cause the tip rubs against his underwear and its sensitive so it hurts .
you should teach your child good cleaning habbits . 😴. . If you can't clean yourself by 6 then something is wrong with you . . I've been bathing myself ,washing my own hair and even fixing my own hair for school since I was 6. . it all depend on the maturity and how your kid feels about being clean . I'm obsessed with showering (3 times a day ) and so is his father - he can't do anything without shower , putting on lotion ,cologne, clipping his nail , lol etc . . We just obsessed with being clean and feeling good and that's what we're teaching our sons @aphrodite2014 ....
@nicemmcha2015, yeah but that's from letting bacteria sit in there. It's simply up to the parents in my eyes, at a certain age they are capable of washing themselves I understand that but they should know the seriousness of doing so and the risks that come with it. It's how you raise your kids too at the end of the day. 😉
Also if you get circumcised within time, I heard it can desensitize them. Making sex unpleasurable than usual in the future.
@adevlin2, that's how I feel, also I heard that non circumcision is better because it's like you have something protecting the head from bacteria, all they have to do is wash themselves. Easy. My bf isn't circumcised either and he's perfectly fine. And I don't wanna see my babies weenie wrapped up for ten days while he's still brand new to this world. 😕
@taestasia, I don't have boys but I do have a friend who has a boy and chose not to.. by 4 months of age he had 3 UTIs because of it. and the dr has been suggesting getting It done ever since.
If we have a boy we won't have it done because my boyfriend isn't. There's never been an issue for him and he'll teach him the proper way to keep himself clean. It's not covered by insurance so we won't be paying out of pocket for it. Plus boys can get infections when they're circumcised, that doesn't just make it impossible not to get one because they're circumcised. It's up to the parents, but people make it some bigger deal than it really is. Just my opinion though 😊
I'm getting my son circumsized because my mom is a cna and she said a lot of people who haven't been are always getting infections.
@adevlin2, that's why I will ah e his circumcised because when he goes through his teen years or anything past like idk 6 or 7 you can't force them to clean it which could cause an infection. grown men should know to clean themselves which is why your boyfriend is clean, but there is a large time frame that you can't force them and they could get an infection that could prevent them from ever having kids
circumcision... no real reason... but his dad wants it and I'm on board with it
There are different reason why someone decided on getting it or not. It will be due to religion or personal. The pros are its kind of self cleaning and that it only hurts the baby for a small amount of time. The cons are that since the baby can't clean it themselves into they get older you will have to clean it for them to get rid of all the Bacteria that grows on the inside. Plus my cousin decided not to get her two sons circumsized because her husband isn't and she didn't want them to look at him different like why don't we look alike so it's up too you
I'm on my second boy , no circumcision . . Not against it , just don't wanna see them in pain . . Cleanliness? 😴 my boyfriend isn't circumcised but is perfectly clean 👌 just depends on how they clean themselves . . Its not a sleeve 😂 it pulls back very easy. (but my 2 year old is fighting me to not clean him there so every bath its not getting cleaned but I do get him to soak in the tub and when he distracted pull it back real quick to get the soap water to cleanse it. @aphrodite2014 @amarismommy510 @rochelleyayy
also studies have shown the benefits outweigh the risks, but not by enough to make it standard practice.. I honestly think it's less tramadic to do it right after both then let them decide when they are older and remember it..
im having a girl but i have 4 nephews thats all been circumcised. itll be easier to bathe baby once its healed cuz thats extra skin you dont have to worry about, cuts down on chances later him gettin yeast infection and whatnot, and easier for him to clean himself as he gets older again cuz no need to worry bout pullin shin back. also if not done the possibility of that small hole in the foreskin bein too small to pee out of or stretch to pull back and could become painful. its rare that happens but possible
Team Circumcisions! I refused to let my son run around with a turtle neck. And trust me. Its less stress of having to clean it and teaching them to clean it. I had a friend do his at 15 yrs old bc of infections.
I weighed the pros and cons and left it up to his dad. He chose to circumcise, because he had another son who didn't get circumcised and he said as they get older and wont clean it they STIINKKY.
Circumcision. My first son is and his dad is. In my opinion it's better hygiene. I didn't have any problems with my first having it done.
I'm having a boy in 5 weeks. I was having this same thought, but my doctor said I should do it because if not it could cause a lot of bacteria on the inside.
I'm choosing circumcision, because of the risk of infection if you don't properly clean it and if you don't teach them.to properly clean it and boys tend to not care if they don't shower for days when then get older, so just out of cleanliness I'm having it done, plus daddy had his done and do did older brother.. no reason not to
not pregnant but been wanting info on this as well, good topic girl.
