@faithworks_101, yes im a first time mom and im having a boy. Im going to have him circumcised, his daddy is but apparently none of my brothers are my mom says not to do it but i wanted some opinions.
@cupcakesandbows, well it's the truth ya know. I've seen grown men having to medically have it done, and it's not cuz it's "prettier" as some have apparently state it's from a medical professional stand point it's medically better, again seeing a 20, 30, or 40 yr old man come in having to have it done is the worst ever
it's not about who's a better mom, the discussion is what puts more into perspective on both sides to get a better idea of what someone would choose. you're not wrong, she's not wrong, no one is wrong for what they choose for their own child. we can all have opinions and be open about them to ensure that another mom who is curious has insight on the topic. 😊
@tiffanigypsy8, I don't. know how people don't shower after sex 😂 @twinmamma2015 thank you! people think I'm making this stuff up lol. all I'm going to say because apparently this convo is making people go insane hhah is that each have their own preference. either.if you chose to do it or not it does NOT make you wrong. don't let others make the decision for you do what you feel is best . that's all :drops the mic: ✌ 😂😂😂
you can only take care of your child until a certain age of making sure he is clean correctly.. there are pros n cons me personally after what I have seen and the er cases I have delt with circumcision it is
I wonder if anyone here would be okay with cutting off the extra labia on a baby girl. They do it for the same reasons and "it's prettier" it's still mutilation no matter how you look at it for either gender.
foreskin hides STDS and infections. and if the girl isn't clean she can give him an infection and him not know it.
and i've dated several guys who were not circumcised and had no problems their whole life with it. i'm very open with me opinion on this and have talked to some of my male friends who weren't circumsised and also said little to no problems. the only ones who said they had any sort of problems were yeast infections caused by not showering after sex. which male or female, you should always clean yourself after sex.
Lol exactly @adrie1stimemommytob they shouldn't be lazy!! And so because of that they have to get mutilated to prevent infection caused by laziness??
my boys got it and are fine. working in the medical field and my mom also working in the medical field have seen many many grown men come in having to have it done. I have yet to see statistics of deaths from circumcisions. but having it done as a grown man is much worse. My boys didn't cry at all, they were fine. and getting done then they won't remember it. but getting it done as an older child or adult it's much more painful and they will remember it
@mrsgeorge, have you had to do it to a child before? of not than its only you opinion, I've actually done it and speaking from experience. can't always believe what you read. but like I said to each their own. some want to some do not and there is no wrong or right. its a decision a parent makes for what they believe is better for their son.
If it's getting cleaned the right way every time they take showers there will be no infection. It's not hard. All the men in my life aren't cut and they do just fine. @cupcakesandbows as moms we also have to remember most boys are lazy and cares less about hygiene than girls.
I'm in the medical field and an uncircumcised person is more prone to infection a lot of men are lazy.. IG I have a boy he is getting it done
i feel it's very evil. and!!!!! the numbing agent they use is the equivalent to orajel for teething. i don't know if anyone has used it as an adult and knows that it hardly relieves any pain, just irritation for a few minutes and they don't get pain meds for afterwards of course because they are newborns. imagine having skin with millions of nerve endings cut off your body with no anaesthesia then being in pain for weeks as an infant and having no idea what the fuck is going on.
@chasinghappiness, well I don't know every child is different. my son didn't cry about it even after. remember when they are little they don't remember anything or know anything. kinda like piercing a baby's ears they cry for a sec then don't even know what happen, a 5 year.old like myself, I cried for days because I was older and it was sore for like 2 days.
But once the numbing is gone he can feel it @cupcakesandbows it won't stay numb.
yes a baby does feel it. I don't care what anyone says. I have read up on it, plenty. it's ridiculous and uncalled for.
@mrsgeorge, it is cleaning. read up on it. my little brother wasn't and now he has issues and he's 18. you have to spend a lot of time keeping I clean because it's pretty much a closed up area . where to clean it you have to go in deep the skin ALOT because any bit of sweat etc goes on causes infection where it will be worse and may end up having more damage in the future. its not easy and remember a lot of guys who aren't are insecure of what it looks like and I'm not going to have my son feel that way. to each their own. like I said I had 2 of my male friends be uncircumcised and they had to at age 35 because of infections and etc. and a baby doesn't feel it its numbed up. mine didn't even cry a min he felt nothing
.
I'm just wondering if some of these people think that mutilating a baby girls genitalia is okay too. because in other countries they do that and to them it's okay. God made the baby like that. leave it alone!
Oh well I know what your supposed to do.. But the mom that had it done on her son apparently didn't put enough ointment cause it stuck to his diaper and caused more pain to him
It's not "cleaner" you just have to teach little man to keep it cleaned. It gets infected if they don't pull the skin back and clean the area. Cutting it is just and easy way out.
this is going to possibly cause a shit storm but i'm personally very against mutilating a babies genitalia. most of the "facts" about circumcision are all completely bogus anyways. like the idea that he will have more of a chance to contract an std, that's silly as hell. he will get an std the same as any other man not using protection. or that idea that they are less clean, you need to teach your child to clean their privates regardless of having foreskon or not so how would it be less clean if you're doing what every parent should by teaching them to be clean. and the whole 'he will be made fun of' or 'no girl will date him' is obscene. for one, there's no way schools make boys strip naked in front of each other in this day and age and if there is, do you know how many other uncircumcised boys there would be? and if a girl is shallow enough to reject a boy for being natural, then she's a little bitch.
@chasinghappiness, baby doesn't feel pain they numb the area fist. my son didn't cry cause he didn't feel it. @izzysmommy1003 it doesn't stick tot he diaper. you put ointment on it for a week and you change the diaper a lot do it doesn't stick.
I had to share a hospital room with another woman and she circumcised her son and he was the crankset baby there. He was uncomfortable.
I don't agree with it. it's a cosmetic surgery. fun fact: in every other country is is illegal because it is considered torture. and also, when people say "it's cleaner" to get it clipped, don't believe them, they are just lazy. look up a video of a circumcision being done. if you can honestly watch then, then go ahead I guess. I could never do that to my child. whew.
I did for my son. its stays cleaner, and less risks of getting infected or etc in the future. I know 2 people who weren't and had to become when they were older because it got infected.
I personally don't see any reasons for doing that. It isn't needed + it's pain for no reason. Baby won't like it.
I wanted to but I saw some baby boy got it and had an infection and died like 2 days after. And if you don't keep the area lubricated the blood can dry to the diaper and if you take of the diaper it will stick in and make them bleed more.
Well at the end of the day, that is your precious baby and you make the calls. Go with your gut feeling, that's what I did and I do not regret it😄
