ok my daughter isnt here yet and after shes born i plan on going back to work so my ? is how often should i pump if im not with her or would i pump every to hours like i would if she was feeding directly off me ( first time mom)
wait until 6 weeks to pump if you can so you don't get oversupply or mastitis. start pumping a week before you go. once a day after morning feed. then pump evey 2 or 3 hours at work. It's important to pump on your days off as well.
I pump at work every 4 hours but feed on command when I'm home. my supply hasn't dropped & my son is now 3 months old & huge. talk to a lactation consultant they will be able to tell you exactly what to do.
yes, pump every two hours. If you can start pumping while you're on maternity leave so you have a good supply for whoever is watching your baby during the time you're at work. :)
