Is it ok to add formula to breast milk for nightly feedings? I know breast milk is thinner and makes babies want to eat more often so I was considering doing this just to help tgem sleep longer during the night
My breast are heavy and full with milk but when I squeeze nothing comes out and when I try to pump nothing is pumped into the breast pump its like I have milk but its stuck and wont come out...any tips or help on this.. i really would like to breastfeed my daughter....
When I mix breast milk and formula do you still add water into it?
Producing breast milk is so hard...i tried the mothers tea, i drink a lot of water and milk...I do have milk but barely make it to half bottle what else can i do???

Quick question to breast feeding mum i would like to breast feed my baby when she comes as I’ve never really breast fed my other 2, is it uncomfortable also how is pumping out milk????? For bottle feeds is the pump uncomfortable... I would normally just breast feed and not pump when home but I do drive so when I’m out and can’t stop I’ll have to use a bottle...I remember trying to breast feed my youngest and I keeped getting milk ducts why was that??? I think that’s why I gave up as I was scared lol

I'm sure it's possible to do so, however thickening the milk will not actually make baby sleep longer. Sleeping through the night is actually a developmental milestone. There is little you can do to make babies sleep longer throughout the night.

awh man.... I read somewhere online that babies who drink formula sleep longer.

@prettiladi_shan, my friend just had her baby and she said he sleeps at least an hour longer with formula... but she either does breast milk or formula she doesn't mix .. But comparing them she says he's less fussy and sleeps longer with formula

Yeah its def not true. My daughter has consistently slept 6 to 7 hour stretches at night. My friend who formula feeds gets up 3 to 4 times during an 8 hour stretch with him. It all depends on the baby!
My advice to get little one to sleep longer would be a routine. Depending on the age try swaddling and a noise machine.

formula actually goes thru babies quicker breast milk has the nutrients to keep the baby full it's just that if you don't feel like just laying around and letting the baby cluster feed for a few hours here and there during the day thn that's a reason. you may want to do formula . I didn't start formula til my baby was six months she gets it all day when I'm at work and then breast all night til I go to work and on weekends!

both my boys were formula fed. one started sleeping through the night at 4 months old the other didn't till he was 11 month old, but when I was giving donated breastmilk he would sleep through the the night. breastmilk has melatonin in it that is transferred from you into the breastmilk. formula won't have that. I wish I could have breastfed my kids but didn't get the chance to. I would breastfeed over formula feed.
