So my (ex)husband went into hiding a year ago after being released from jail. I've had hard time trying to find him to divorce him. I cant afford the lawyer fees plus whatever else so I've been wanting to file myself with a no fault marriage just to get it over with. He finally popped back up on the planet a week ago asking me if I pay him then he will divorce me. And it just pisses me off. Like I'm already offering to pay for the divorce and at this point I'm just wondering if I should just do it through a lawyer.

Depends on the state laws. Consult with an attorney first and look up family laws in your state.
if he is in jail you can divorce him for free in the state of Utah I'd look into it..
totally looks like a creeper! o wouldn't trust anything he says, get a lawyer honey... I know it's expensive, I just and thru 2 years of a custody battle, but it's well worth it. Just the comfort of knowing everything will be done correctly is golden.... good luck honey
File for divorce and if he doesn't respond the divorce goes in your favor. No judge is going to make you stay married to him :)
