So, my doctor booked the hospital for next Sunday morning, 10/4. He said they will start inducing with a drink called Cytotec. Of course, I went home and googled it and found a ton of bad articles, listing fetal and maternal fatalities and uterine ruptures associated with this drug. I am freaking out. Going to have a long talk with him at our appt next week. I don't even want to be induced. My gestational diabetes is under control and the baby isn't that big. Can't we just wait for her to come on her own? I'm already 38 weeks for crying out loud.

Wen I got induced I didn't have to drink anything. They just put little pills inside my cervix... Im sure there are other ways of u r worried about drinking that stuff.

I used cytotec but it was a pill they put in my vagina. I freaked reading about it too but dr said it was my only choice. Don't worry they know the best options for every situation.

Do not let them bully you into doing something you're uncomfortable with. There's always a different option

I really don't like all those doctors pushing pregnant women into being induced when there is no medical reason to do so. I would suggest you have a talk with your doctor about the urgency of being induced before the due date if your gestational diabetes is under control.
