nope I am not kidding. you are considered full term at 37 weeks. the last 3 weeks are just putting on weight. I am a RN and I get an ultrasound every 2 weeks. he will be ready by 37 weeks

how can u induce urself I'd love to at 37 weeks because of how big he already is he's been measuring g 2 weeks ahead for almost two months he's now 5.5 lbs and I'm at 34 weeks today last Friday he was a little over 5

@maddoxmommie0127, castor oil. I know the feeling. babies gain a half a pound a week in the last trimester. by 37 weeks, my baby will be almost 8 pounds. that's big enough for me. put some castor oil in some juice, or if you can stomach it, take a tea spoon of it.

@jjordan86, I tried inducing myself at 37 week with castor oil because at that point my son was over 8lbs almost 9 but the castor oil didn't work and i ended up being induced at 40 weeks 5 days and my son was born weighing 10lbs 9.8oz.

baby's are full term at 37 weeks which means they can live outside the womb without a problem, my sister has 3 kids two girls and a boy and none of them made it past 37weeks and everyone of them is perfectly fine and had absolutely no problems.@paisleysmama0216,

37 weeks isn't considered full term, it's actually considered early term now. 39 weeks is what they consider full term, they changed it in 2013 or 2014.

my oldest niece is 6 my nephew is almost 4 and my youngest niece is 10 months old and they're all prefect babies not everyone can make it to 40 weeks.

@mamaofangelbaby0610, due dates can be up to 2 weeks off therefore if you're trying to induce at 37 weeks your baby could actually be 35 weeks. If baby comes naturally before their due date or if you're being induced due to medical problems such as pre-e that's one thing but to force your baby out because you feel he/she is "big enough" is selfish and dangerous as @boogersbugsanddirt said 39 weeks is now full term

@mamaofangelbaby0610, the right term is early term. Doctors will not induce you until after 39 weeks unless it's medically necessary. Yes the baby can live outside the womb but it's not longer considered full term.

my sister induced herself every time at 37 weeks. and idc if they changed the full term crap if I'm still in as much pain as I am right now at 37 weeks I'll be inducing myself.

they couldn't have changed it in 2014 that's when I was pregnant with my son and they we're still telling me that at 37 I was considered full term @boogersbugsanddirt

I had a baby in 2014 as well and I couldn't be induced until after 39 weeks.

@maddoxmommie0127, you can have them same complications at 40 weeks. alot of women have babies at 37 weeks. I would not be inducing at 37 if it was not safe.

@mamaofangelbaby0610, if the baby comes naturally, that's one thing. Inducing labor on your own is dangerous and can cause complications. Baby could still be underdeveloped. I understand now making it until 40 weeks, my hips split with my 2nd son. I'm having a hard time walking and only being 18 weeks but I won't self induce at 37 weeks and I know I'll be miserable. I've been having a lot of issues but unless baby comes on her own, self Inducing is a huge risk.

this is exactly why doctors urge you not to use the Internet for answers to your questions. the Internet can scare you. @paisleysmama0216 clearly does not have the same pregnancy as you. every pregnancy is different. I'm 28 weeks and my baby lungs are fully developed. ask your doctor at your next ultrasound whether your baby is fully developed, that will help you make your decision @maddoxmommie0127

I wasn't induced until after 40 weeks but they were telling me that if I wanted to induce myself at 37 weeks I could because I was considered full term I was ended up induced at 40wesks 5days. I'm not trying to fight with you I'm just saying what i was told at 37 weeks. @boogersbugsanddirt

I am a RN. unless you are already having complications, you can get an ultrasound at 37 weeks to confirm your baby fully developed and induce labor in natural ways that will not harm your baby. like I said every pregnancy is not the same and as a nurse I would not give bad advice @boogersbugsanddirt

@jjordan86, that's how much my baby weighed at 28 weeks. He was 3 lbs and 7 oz.. Now at 34 weeks and 4 days He weighs about 6 lbs. He is a huge baby and the ultrasound tech told me he has no room at all.. He's in position and facing my back, using his lungs, and everything. they said if he wanted to come right now it would be fine because he is developed. But they will take him in 3 1/2 weeks anyways.. if he would make it "full term" he would be at least a 10 lb baby. I'm already thinking about ways to kick start my body because baby is already ready as well as I. I am miserable lol. he is huge!!

exactly how I am feeling@bentleysmommy2016 . If they are saying he is developed I would go for it. no sense in being miserable and baby being miserable if you two don't have to be

I'm thinking about it, but everyone just says sex and walking helps. well sex is extremely painful, and walking is to because he's dropped and puts so much pressure on everything... I don't know what else to try.. @jjordan86

sex is painful for me also. I am going to do castor oil and red raspberry tea. @bentleysmommy2016

is the castor oil safe though and does it work?

it is safe. alot of people can't take the taste of it so they mix it with juice. It works for most but not all mothers. I've done research and the castor oil and red raspberry tea are the best
