The safest spot is whichever you get the tightest and best installation of your car seat, but statistically the driver side gets hit more often in accidents so if you can't put the seat in the middle I would try to put it on the passenger side.

Yes I know what you mean. Who told you not to? Honestly if I were you I would drop by the local fire department and have them see if it's safe for the seat to be in the middle! They know all the regulations and can help you out :)

I have my sons behind the passenger seat and I have a mirror on the back of the seat so I can see him

@queendavis, it has like a lump there, you know what I mean? Like it lifts up in the middle, I was told we weren't suppose to put the car seat there because of that. @babygirl10-11 do you use a base with your car seat?

Why can't you put it in the middle? I'm going to have my son behind the drivers seat and the newborn behind the passenger seat. That way I can see her better.

my baby goes all over she be in all the seats except the front of course ... it all depends whose driving and who's in the car if hubby is driving she's behind the passenger if me then the driver and if I'm by myself she's in the middle so I can see and reach her

That's a good point ^ I didn't think of that. And if you end up being passenger in your mom's or sisters, if baby's on drivers side you can do like @kmally said and be able to reach them and see them easily.

I always put my girls behind the driver seat and get a mirror to go on the back head rest and a small adjustable mirror next to my rear view mirror to view the mirror in the back... If that makes sense

@kmally, agh, that's a good reason to have her on that side. This is so confusing 😭

I have mine on the passengers side for my 15 month old :) then with the mirror we can see him easily and I can still reach him by turning around :)

@tjmcjm, see that's what I was thinking! But when I go into labor, the car seat won't even be in my car yet, it'll be in my sisters or my moms. 😭

I put mine on the drivers side so I wouldn't have to walk around every time to get him in and out, just right behind me! :)
