I can’t wait to put my son forward facing in his car seat 👌🏼four more days
@makeupbyyazx, California Law. Current California Law: Children under 2 years of age shall ride in a rear-facing car seat unless the child weighs 40 or more pounds OR is 40 or more inches tall. The child shall be secured in a manner that complies with the height and weight limits specified by the manufacturer of the car seat. Hope this helps
@cattalexis, as someone who is currently still pregnant I didn’t take anything @laniejay, @mommynes, or@taylorsmommy1017, said as rude or shaming. I appreciate all the information that was shared on this thread because I honestly always assumed once they outgrew the baby seat they could FF. I think that the fact that she was continuously dismissive of what was being shared with her is ridiculous, it’s my observation that no one ever really agrees on anything here (since you know we all parent however we want to) but if all the ladies are telling you the same thing and they’re clearly telling you from a place of care and not hate THE LEAST anyone can do is actually listen to the information not pass along information that can result in someone’s child being killed.
@cattalexis, and it was done, then when someone says their still going to continue to risk their child’s life- tough love comes out
I just would like to say that there are ways to give recommendations, tips, and/or advice without shaming the mother...
@let_there_be_life, 👏👏👏 I’m so glad you took something from this and now you can educate others (friends and family) on the safety of their children.
@nandfmoderator my thoughts exactly, unless a person who had their child improperly seated in their carseat was in an accident their is really no fact to their child being fine, just got lucky nothing has happened. I for one will admit I never knew to keep them rear facing, I just assumed once they grew out of their infant seats, ff. Thanks ladies for all your advice and care no matter who's child this could help.

@diegosmommy0213, you read a weight minimum on a box. You did not read the articles in regards to the safest way to restrain your child. Minimums aren’t adequate when it comes to the safety of children.
@diegosmommy0213 you know whats best based off your states laws or when you think he's ready?
@taylorsmommy1017, wow strange . My cousin works at the one off st rose n Vegas
@laniejay, I’m not I read what it said . And he was at the requirement it said
@diegosmommy0213 are you just not willing to try and understand what's best for your son?
@diegosmommy0213, at this point you’re choosing to be willfully ignorant about it.
@diegosmommy0213, doctors are not car seat safety experts
@nandfmoderator, if it was bad the dr would of told me ...
@laniejay, I went off the box of the seat
N he does well with a seat belt over all
@diegosmommy0213, don’t go by minimums-there’s more than weight that matters. There’s vine ossification, there’s maturity, ability to sit properly etc. a 4 yr old does not have the attention span to sit properly with a seat belt. Nor does he have the bone ossification for just a seat belt. You did not rest up on CSFTL because they never recommend going by the minimum. They recommend Rearfacing at 4.
@nandfmoderator, nvr mentioned I was n one of u read the earlier comments
@laniejay, I read it
U hv to b 40 - 50 lbs to b the seat booster and he hits the weight for it
@diegosmommy0213, I hope you’re referring to a harnessed booster because 4 is too young for a seatbelt booster
Car seat safety isn’t a parenting choice, it isn’t an opinion, it isn’t a “what’s best for you”. It’s an obligation and responsibility to do the safest thing possible. I’m going to hope that this is a troll post. Considering not only is it illegal, but boasting that unsafe things are taking place risking a child’s life. In the event it isn’t- take the powerful device in your hands- drop on over to the car seats for littles on Facebook and educate yourself on keeping your babies safe. Now that you’ve been shown where to go, been told this is extremely unsafe and that you’re risking your child’s life- if one chooses to do so anyways, that is being willfully negligent with a child’s life
@mommynes, very kind advice. You’re a wonderful advice giver and I hope this reaches many people.
@mommynes, i dont know it was years ago
My son four y old now n he’s n a booster seat now
@diegosmommy0213, what’s the name of the car seat? This was over two years ago and laws have changed since then. Now, they have to be 2. Not 1 1/2. So again, I hope in the future you rear face until it is safe to do otherwise. Not for me or anyone else here, for your children.
@mommynes, he was a year n half the type of car seat I had was fine for he’s weight ..
that’s y I posted earlier people do things diff n if it was a huge problem I’m sure his dr would of told me not to do that ...
that’s y I put when I did it .. I didn’t write u should do it this was
@diegosmommy0213, babe, by posting you did it earlier than recommended and he’s fine you are implying that it’s ok for others to do as well. I’m not trying to fight with you. I thoroughly enjoy your posts of your son everyday. You’ve stood out to me as someone who truly cherishes your boy and I know his safety means a lot to you. That should include car seat safety. You would have never forgiven yourself if your decision to not follow rules had a different outcome. I hope you change your mind in the future.
What??? You do what you’re comfortable with? The way you feel has nothing to do with laws or facts. What’s more important to you? Your child’s life or your own solace? This is by the one of the most ignorant things I’ve read in awhile. Your child isn’t safe because you ff them early. Your child is safe by the fact you haven’t been in an accident. Do not hand out your misguided and ignorant advice when it comes to the safety of another’s child.
Car seat safety and laws aren't a "different strokes for different folks" kind of thing. They're put in place for the safety of your children, for a reason.
@taylorsmommy1017, yea I guess
I just do stuff if I feel he’s ready n to me he was
@taylorsmommy1017, when people posted stuff
I usually type when I started my son bc what’s good n worked for us doesn’t mean I’ll work for three yea kno
@taylorsmommy1017, yup that’s y I posted on the status earlier I said “I did it at 1.5” I nvr posted u should do it by this age
@taylorsmommy1017, that’s how I did it n we’re fine
Diff strokes for diff folks n I’ll still b the same when I hv more ... he wasn’t 40 to the T when I put him n the boaster either
It was fine for us
@taylorsmommy1017, I’ve nvr been the type that go by rules.. I still don’t follow rules lol I do what I’m comfortable with lol
@taylorsmommy1017, I didn’t wait I did 1.5 y old and he was fine and he’s four now... everyone mom diff
That’s how I did it for me
@taylorsmommy1017, no it’s all diff I put my son this year n a booster seat he’s four y old n is 40 lbs
@taylorsmommy1017, 40 is for booster seats I did my son at almost two for front viewing
@taylorsmommy1017, yea my baby is only 28
@venancio06.iris10.ezequiel16, and do they have to weight a certain amount ?
@makeupbyyazx, in California you have to be two years of age
How old is he and how much do they have to weight ?
