Почему так сложно найти работу с детьми и учитывая возраст?

I'm really sick of having a hard time finding a job that'll hire me with my availability. Oh and forget about telling them I have kids then they never want to hire you. Pretty sure they don't want to hire me because of my age also. I've never had such a hard time finding a job until I had three kids

Well that place actually called me this morning and I pretty much got the job I start tomorrow. And they're okay with working around when I'm available which is a plus

I'm sorry could you do a work from home job? I know it's hard with kids but depending the kind of job you are applying for they need you certain hours and days and yes kids can make that a challenge for parents but that's not on a job to hire around your availability you need to be flexible for the job you are wanting. I'm sorry it's been so hard.

@ladyfreyja, I work retail right now and they are really flexible with my schedule. You just have to keep trying and find one that works with you not against you.

dude Aldi has turned me down, a pet store around here has turned me down when I have tons of experience with animals, Target has turned me down, the food store down the road turned me down

those are a little more demanding retail stores. Have you tried something that is more around just sales? Like I work in a bookstore. If your applying in more of a department type setting they are the quick to replace kind of companies that aren’t flexible.

Idk where you live but ik that a lot of schools are hiring for teacher’s assistant and for substitutes.

@ladyfreyja, you could try baby sitting, ik ppl who baby sit and make good money out of it. Some ladies ik can earn up to $7,000 a month, you would just need your license and it’s not hard to get.

ladyfreyja

what kind of license do you need for babysitting? I've babysat before. Unless you mean babies, I have never done that other than my own children

bsandra

Sandra

It would be children’s care licensing/ child care certification, this allows you to work as a care provider for the state.

I’m sorry you’re having trouble!! I work in an office and we haven’t been able to find anyone to work part time hours for what I think are great “mom hours.” (Mon-Fri, 8-5, 25 hours-you pick them!). My boss doesn’t try very hard to hire anyone, but when we have looked, we didn’t find anyone. They don’t want to pay enough. 😡

Damn I would take something like that if I knew how to do office work, I really have never worked in an office either or at a desk job. For my age I don't have much experience in job feels other than retail which I despise, working with animals and working for like sign companies doing sign production and graphics installation. Other than that I'm clueless

@itskarina, it's actually a type of sign company that does the same kind of stuff I have over 10 years experience in. I think they're flexible with an interview time but they only started ignoring me after I told them I have to get my kid on the bus. So I was sick over the weekend, my interview was supposed to be this Monday, so I had to cancel because I had the flu bad. So I let them know this Monday morning and they said thank you for letting us know we hope you feel better let us know what day works for you. So I got back with them the next day and I said I am hoping to come in Wednesday or Thursday do you want to stick to our interview time that we had for Monday at 10:30 or would another time work better for you. So they only just got back to me this morning and said would tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. work for you. And that's when I said no I have to get my son on the bus at 8:45 I can arrive after that. And that was this morning and I haven't heard back from them all day. And they're only just about 12-15 minutes down the road from where I live

they could be thinking that you’re not serious about the interview because you had to reschedule which sucks because you were actually sick. I would follow up with them again tomorrow and provide several different times you’d be available like 9:30-3 etc. That gives them plenty of times to choose from. I work as a Recruiter and it’s always helpful when people provide big windows of times for me to choose from.

yeah I am going to follow up with them tomorrow morning but I let them know after my son was on the bus I could basically come in whenever

I remember months back I went for this interview at a warehouse. I didn't even know it was a warehouse till I got there and I was like oh hell no cuz it was like a sweatshop Warehouse lol. The guy interviewing me tell me what hours they work and I go oh that's not going to work I was like can I come in at 10:00 to five instead of 9 to 5:00. And he said why? I said well I have one kid I have to get on the bus and the babysitter comes for the other two in the morning he goes oh God how long is that going to go on for, all rude and s*** like what an a******. It's okay in the end they did turn out to be assholes

yes that's the thing all these places hiring but no one will take me cuz my hours aren't flexible enough for them. It's crazy but I'm available 30 hours a week just not on evenings and weekends and super early in the morning lol. And yes the process of getting hired does take time he thinks it's going to happen like overnight

schools have mom hours. Have you looked there before? I see them posted on our school newsletter all of the time. Not sure of that may help.

I mean I could try and look again but like I said most of those places want you there at like 8:00 or 8:30 in the morning and I can't do that

It’s sometimes hard to get into because the positions fill fast, but I do transcription. It’s all online, don’t have to leave the house or deal with people. The company I work for (called 3Play Media), you dont even have a schedule. You can just log in and work whenever and how much you feel like (as long as there are jobs to do). It’s freelancer/contract work and doesnt pay the best, but extremely flexible.

Okay I'm interested, could you message me the details of what you do?? If I had to do work on a computer I could break out the old laptop that's like 8 years old and not updated at all lol. It would need a lot of cleaning. Basically what I tell people don't have a computer home cuz that's the last time it's been touched lol

Congrats👏🏻

You couldn't find a babysitter?!

You couldn't find a babysitter?! Mommas, do you take your kids with you to run errands and go to mundane appointments? On two separate occasions, a doctors appointment for me and today at a car service appointment, someone has remarked "you couldn't find a babysitter?!" It never crossed my mind to find a babysitter. I take my 2 kids with me just about everywhere. They are well behaved (minus the occasional 3 year old meltdown) and one of them is attached to my boob the majority of the time anyway. Am I the only one? Is that a weird thing to do? Do most moms find babysitters?

I hope I’m not the only momma about to have a meltdown I feel like a horrible mom My oldest is 16 and ever since I had…

I hope I’m not the only momma about to have a meltdown I feel like a horrible mom My oldest is 16 and ever since I had him I’ve never had me time The job I had would let me take my son so never ever did I have to leave him with a sitter Now I have 2 more and same thing happened I’m my moms caretaker so that means my kids are with me 24/7 The husband helps me with the kids whenever he’s in the mood But I still have chores to do in the house At this point I’m desperate to have some me time away from my house I feel like a horrible mom daughter and wife for wanting that me time 🥺😭
