Even positive stress is stress.
Long story, but some of you may remember me mentioning my mom is selling her 3000+ square foot house in Ohio. Well, it sold. She is going to keep her tiny place in Texas and travel in her fancy little RV. My sisters live far away and don't want anything big. So I am inheriting all the family heirlooms and furniture, the dining table that seats 24, the small appliances, the TVs, all the tools, the generator, you get the picture. I really appreciate it, I know my mom and sisters appreciate it because they know I will take care of things and it takes the stress off my mom. My husband planned to go down in a few weeks to box up what was left in our room and hire a few movers to load a POD. I hadn't planned to go because my daughter starts school next week and with her and the dog there, I can't pack or do anything because I am supervising them.
My mom texts me this am that the buyer wants to move the closing up by 10 days. Ummmm, what?! I told her I can't guarantee that I can reachedule the POD (they have a delivery schedule too) and the movers and they may have to honor the original date in the contract or something closer to it.
I knew this would turn into chaos. I know what a blessing it is to get a house full of nice items and just split the moving costs. I know. But it's also stressful trying to get all this done in a pandemic with people moving the dates like I own a moving company and have staff members. I know it's first world problems and I am so grateful my mom did this while she was young and I didn't have to be executor of the estate in 20 years with my sisters out of town because that's always completely messy.
But crapola, the next few weeks are going to be hectic. And it will be great to pass along items we can't use or things we are replacing in our house to others who really need it right now. Now just waiting for the Realtor to text my mom back and see how much of a diva this buyer is going to be. This is just a second "weekend" home for her family, so I expect some divaishness because who buys a 3000+ square foot home for weekend funsies?
This is exactly what a microwave society is they want things right away ....now .. Yesterday....Good luck girl Im hoping you get the best outcome God bless
You got this! Sounds really stressful tho. Sending good vibes
Goodness this sounds so stressful! I hope it all works out for you. I would LOVE to see this table. I'm kind of jealous.
Also....I don't think I could come up with a list of TWENTY-FOUR dang people I like enough to have dinner with!
Can we set it up all fancy, with you at one end and me at the other?? We can beckon for Jeeves to pass the pepper!
This sounds like the perfect meal! We could put the hubbys in some tuxedos with silver trays and they could pass the pepper and the Grey Poupon and call us madam.
@jenx They MUST call us madam! There will be ZERO tolerance for insubordination!
@leonardsquared we never allow insubordination, this would just be like any other day. :D
GOODNESS! My head is spinnin just READIN this Jenxy! The mere THOUGHT of rearrangin EVERY damn thing in the house, takin it in, puttin it back, new vs. old, what's stayin, what's goin, who's takin what's goin, and how it's all gettin to its final destination....AHHHH! I SEE why it's stressin you out! You'll just have to take it 1 load at a time and TRY not thinkin too much further ahead than that!
I'm still stuck on "table that seats 24".....
But seriously, they can wait. Your mom has the ability to say no. I recently asked to moved up a purchase as the buyer and the owner declined my request. It's simple. Speak to your mom and express how much it will take to move by so much for you and see if she will agree to just sticking with the original closing date. That's a pretty hefty move, even if she were taking everything with her, for anyone. Best of wishes to your mom and to your for your inheritance.
@jenx It sounds wonderful! I can understand priceless. My best friend is 97 and her girls have me her high school diploma from 1941. It is beautiful and hand written. None else would care about it, but it is absolutely priceless to me!!!! Hugs mama. Have a great day!!!
@xryztalroze I'm all about the sentimental items. I care more about the family photos than any material items. Those things are priceless. She's including all the 8mm video reels and all that. Will be very bittersweet to see all those faces I love again. Have a wonderful day and thanks for the support.
The diva can wait on her second home. You got the damn house, this is a big move and cost. Unless she wanna pay that, she can shut her entitled ass up and wait like the majority of society has to do.
My house is going to be a cluttered storage space while we weed it all out for over a month. I know it's a blessing, but it isn't like it's all brand new from Way fair. It's been through 5 grankids and a few dogs. It's nice stuff and worth it, but no good deed goes unpunished and people are just so darn entitled.
That does sound stressful. Hope it works out. Why can’t they just wait for the original date.
I think they're just excited. I'm trying not to whine but it's kinda giving me a panic attack that I may have to upend all the plans.
@jenx, hopefully they can be reasonable and just wait 10 days. It’s not that long in the grand scheme of things.
@jenx i think you should speak to the new owner and explain idk it might help then understand to be reasonable maybe they can let you in even though they there already and help out
This is exactly what a microwave society is they want things right away ....now .. Yesterday....Good luck girl Im hoping you get the best outcome God bless
To answer that last question? Maybe Rich guys that like orbiting space during a pandemic lol.
@jenx, spontaneous combustions have been replaced with spontaneous ignoramuses.
Wow this is hectic. I hope you have a smooth transition.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.
