Advice??my 6 year old is acting up...
I know it might not help but my 6 year old raise his hand at me and call me fat before that he hit me and i say no because you know you cry. I took his tablet away and told him that he needs to stop. that got him more mad and thats when he did it.So i tell him he would stay with me these weekend and not with his dad. I let his dad know and he is not agreeing with my decision. He says he is going to talk to him but its been the 3rd time he talks to him and nothing. That doind that wouldn't help💁♀️🤷♀️
Have you considered therapy? You can’t just threaten to or take away court ordered parenting time as a punishment for bad behavior. He deserves time with each willing parent. His dad isn’t a privilege, he’s a right to be able to see him. You guys need to work out a healthy co-parenting plan and definitely try therapy for his aggressive behavior but it’s not ever fair to tell him he won’t see his dad. What if his dad did that to you?
I just think there is a better way, maybe ask their dad if you can pick your son up for an hour in his time to talk to him, or better yet put your other kids to bed and let your son stay up a little later to talk with him.
@leonardsquared it's to much lol??? Yeah I get 2 full weekends I tough it's not enough 🤔😅
@mommy_391 Alot of people are doing it alone, completely alone with no help from the child's fathers. You get two weekends which is pretty good.
I have a husband who works 12-14 hours a day and works 14 days straight and has one day off, we don't leave our child with anyone so I don't get a break either. It's what we all chose to do when we became parents. Being a parent is hard but well worth it.
I agree with the other ladies, stopping him from seeing his dad as a punishment is just not right. Take his tablet, all his other toys but definitely not his dad.
I didn't say it's a punishment to him..I should have written that he was going to stay with me to talk and understanding why he is acting like that..since my other 2 kids are going I would have the weekend for him..
You canNOT take away time with his father as a punishment, for ANYTHING. That's freakin horrible.
@momgroupreject I know but I'm not trying to argue with him he has decide before not to take our kids with him for 2 months.. or take our daughter since we didn't have a court order.but you right best to go to court and come to a agreement or judge decide if we don't agree??
@mommy_391, you can agree in court so that it’s court record. That way you have something to fall back on. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can “agree out of court” that’s just their way to manipulate the situation and if they bail, your kids get nothing. You can even file for certain agreed upon things and submit it to court with a lawyer.
@mommy_391 You LITERALLY do though. 🤦♀️ When taking his tablet away didn't change his attitude, you moved to "Fine, you're not going to your Dad's this weekend. He's SIX, he will see it NO other way than you're taking away time with his Dad cause of his attitude/actions....PUNISHMENT. I think you need to reread what you wrote and possibly rethink/go back over the conversation with your kid again and pay attention to how you reacted. You just need to have a conversation with him on your time. Period.🤷♀️

@mommy_391, you can talk to him on your parenting time. It’s not ok to take away the other parents time. You haven’t been doing it by yourself if his dad has full weekend visits, that’s typically the schedule. If you want it modified to have this child with his dad more you can petition the court but threatening another parents time is a huge no no and I’m glad he agreed.
@momgroupreject yeah we don't have court order...since he only decide 2 weekends a month since he works every day and it's 2 hrs away..I get incharge of them all the time school Doctor..I try so many times for him to spend time with them but no...or coparent with him and nothing..I know it shouldn't be what I say, but he decided only the kids money and 2 weekends
@mommy_391, he doesn’t get to decide though lol that’s what court is for. Court decides parenting time and child support.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
My sons dad messaged me and wants to talk to my son.. He doesnt know him. My kid knows of him but doesnt know him. Hes 10 and hasnt seen him since he was 4 and barely the years before that. Im not sure how to respond or just ignore it.
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
i finally let him do it
I finally let DF throw away my foundations. He says I look better without it. He said he hates seeing me cover my face with make up when I can just wear mascara and eyeliner. He says it makes me look fake and he said he's not saying it to be mean, hes saying it because he cares. Im glad he's real with me. He says I have natural beauty. He says he doesn't like it when I dye my hair or wear make up because he loves my natural beauty. I know some girls feel as though that t...
Question: 16 year old dating an q8 year old? Thoughts??
My opinion is hell no. 16 year old is still a kid. Kids now a days want to be grown so bad and be in adult relationships and situations. I know when my daughters are 16 and they tell me they are dating an 18 year old. I will surely flip my lid.
