I’m so nervous to take the next step of taking the pacifier away from my daughter. I feel bad because I forced the pacifier on her when she was an infant. She didn’t care for it, but I continued to offer it to her because let’s be real, I was struggling 🥵. My daughter cried like 85% of the day.. But now she is older and she uses it mostly at night. She uses it to go to sleep and she looks for it throughout the night. Her dentist said that I should take it away by 15 months. I know I seen a lot of you saying to other moms to replace it with something, but is there any other helpful tips???

I told my son it was broken and had him throw it away himself. And whenever he asked for it I’d say “remember, it broke so we had to throw it away” he’d just be like “oh yeah” and forget about it. It took him about a week to stop asking for it. lol Idk if that’ll work for anyone else. I was surprised it worked for him, tbh.

Personally, if her teeth look fine, I wouldn’t worry right now about taking it away. She’s still little. But my son started to develop an open bite so that’s why I got rid of it ASAP.

My daughter had hers forever till she was 3 or 4 :0 ... we took hers away tied them to a tree and told her the chooch fairy would come get them and bring her her most wanted toy . We kept them in the tree for a few days . While she was still missing them and we would just show her . " look the fairy didnt come yet ... I cant wait to see what she has for you " This worked . But my daughter was older ...

I’ve had friends just cut the tip and that was that. They didn’t like it anymore

I’ve heard that too. I’m going to give her a little more time for now because when I’ve tried her not having it before she just cried. But I think if she’s a little older and I give it to her cut she might be able to Take it better. Definitely plan to try that

My little girl cryed for 3 days straight at 15 months but I had to get it away cuz her brother was born two weeks later an didn't want her taking his but after 3days she forgot about it an only would cry a little when it was nap time an bed time but the first 3days was hell I tried everything an nothing worked but not giving it back but she had it all day every day an never wanted it out her mouth unless she was playing an most of the time she still had it in her hand she was bad on it but her brother was easy I just took it away when he turned one an he was fine with it good luck

Omg! I can only imagine 🥵.. I do not look forward to it. My daughter isn’t as attached to it, but I’m sure she could still have the same response. I just hope for the best 😩😔
