Today a friend came over and we were discussing how wed like to see our daughter in future years and mentioned that as long as she was happy we did not care if she was in a relationship with a man or a woman and our friend praised us for thinking that way because parents she has met before us said things like they wouldnt know what to do if their daughter or son turned out gay. First of all, is it that uncommon of a thing to think that way? Second of all, if so.. how sad is this world? And third of all, why has it become an appademic for children to "come out" to their parents? If my child wants to "come out of the closet" ill gladly show her to our walk in closet and allow her to gallop out throwing glitter but if she doesnt want to do that she doesnt NEED to "come out" she doesnt HAVE to tell us her sexual orientation. Is it so uncommon for her to one day come home arm and arm with a female and say "mom, dad this is my girlfriend" and us to turn respectfully to the girlfriend the same as we would a boyfriend and have the "protective talk" and " oh its so nice to meet you!" What the f--- is wrong with society? This does not just pertain to same sex relationships. Id hope that all parents would be just as respectful if the same situation occured but with opposite races. Show some respect.

Im sorry you had to deal with that. I would love nothing more than for our daughter to have a happy long life. I could really care less of the sex of her partner. Its not like people cant adopt. Which for me id love bc my mother was adopted and i think giving a life to a child that would otherwise not have a home life is a great way to give back and shed light in the world.

We are spiritual christian we believe in the paranormal to an extent and that God sends protective angels down to earth to watch over us as young children and then watches over our children as guardians and that we as our childs parents are entrusted by God to raise her up to be a respectful contributing member of society to shed light and love to all people and all creatures alike. It would make absolutely no sense in our belief stand point to tell her she cant love a female for the simple fact that they also have female reproductive organs.

My husband and I have talked about this before. We are not religious whatsoever and are completely accepting of everyone. We were saying how it blows our minds how people don’t support their children if they’re LGBTQ. I made an unspoken agreement to love my child unconditionally when I was ttc, and anything less than that is disgusting behavior by a parent tbh. I can’t imagine having such hate in my heart about something that I’d treat my child differently or cut them out because of who they are and who they love.

Oh no she wasnt being rude to us about it i just thought how sad it was that other people dont believe in the same way we do. She said she met someone who even said they would punish their child for being gay.

My husband and i are both spiritual christians and dont believe in that way. We both find it to be rude and inconsiderate of your child and the other party involved. We believe that christianity is all about showing love and encouraging self love and love towards others. It would completely and totally not make sense if we believed in such a way and then told our daughter she couldnt love male or female. It makes no sense.

Imo, yes it's uncommon to think that way. I've seen it mostly stem from religious beliefs, although not all people within religions think that way.

Eta: although it is my personal belief that we should accept our children's sexual preference for what it is.

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page

Dad's FB Video!! Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!
