How did you all wean your child off the bottle? My daughter won’t drink her milk out of a sippy cup for nothing...but will drink her juice out of one..
I used a sippy cup the top had a rubber piece on top which worked pretty well.. and once she started biting a hole into that one we did the hard sippy cups... now she used straw cups.
I had the same issue with both of them... I found myself giving in to their bottle instead of just taking it away cold turkey which didn’t help. Finally I just threw their bottles away & they really had no choice but to drink from a sippy cup!
That’s my son same problem... if I put juice in a sippy cup he’ll drink it but not milk. And even if I put juice in the bottle he won’t drink it 😒
I tried having my twins start using a sippy cup at about 8 months. My girl twin will drink milk or water out of it but my boy twin throws a fit screaming and crying if I try to give him anything but a bottle. He will just toss it to the side and pay no attention to it. I'm at a loss and don't wanna go wasting money I don't have on a tun if different cups
that’s exactly how my daughter is..she’s throws a fit and tosses it to the side! Exactly I’ve already wasted money twice on two different cups..
I started transitioning my son from the bottle to a sippy at 5.5 months. By 6 months he was completely bottle free.

I didn't do it with my daughters, took their bottles away when they turned 1. They only fought for a few days, but transitioning my soon sooner, made it so much easier.
I'm really hesitant to offer juice because of its sugar content (even 100%). Is it just something I need to get over to maybe get him to use a cup?
honestly I was the same way! But it really has helped her like the sippy cup since she knows there’s juice in it.. and I usually mix half water half juice so it’s not as bad! but for the life of me she won’t drink milk out of it 🤣..
I just weened my son a month ago, I honestly took it away cold turkey. It was a day he didn't nap, so he didn't have bottle. So i kept it hidden , and eventually threw it out that week. Only thing is he won't drink milk now. Just water or juice.

We first introduced the sippy cup at 6 months and then slowly transitioned away from the bottle. We tried a few different sippy cups until we found one that worked. We were done with the bottle by 12 months.

Same problem here. If he refuses to drink out of anything but his bottle, what do you do? I don't want him dehydrated because he won't drink anything. Maybe a few sips here and there.
I just started out by giving her one less ounce for a week and then the following week one more less at once and so on and so on until it was all gone. After a week she was so used to getting the amount that she got so once it was all gone it didn't bother her much
My daughter bit a hole in her nipple, had her throw it away in the trash because it “has a hole now” and that was that lol.
@shanellamari, I tried everything with my daughter from different cup to different cup, and she would never take milk from a sippy only water. But once I had her throw that bottle away it made her realize oh sh*t I gotta use my big girl cups now.
I accidentally put something that he didn’t like in his bottle and he was scared of it. Now he’ll willingly take his sippy from me
@littleonemorning, I may try the straw cups now that she’ll drink out of a straw somewhat.. I’ve tried over and over and she refuses and she still needs to drink her milk that’s why I haven’t thrown the bottle out yet😩
just play around with different cups. If she’s only drinking milk out of them, what’s she drinking water out of? My son has “colors” that he associates his milk and water cup with. It’ll happen! My son was drinking out of a bottle until almost a year and a half. 360 cups helped us!

I just took it and told her milk and juice go in the sippy cup now. The first 2 days were definitely hard but she eventually realized there really wasn't a bottle anymore
need suggestions.... So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
I know what I was meaning to ask y'all . Is it true that at the age of one your baby would have to switch to sippy cups because of their teeth rotting out? The nurse told me I would have to stop Carmen from drinking out of bottles since she's has been switched to whole milk because it will start rotting out her teeth.🤔 Help me understand because either way wouldn't the whole milk still be in her mouth unless you brush her teeth ?

So the pediatrician wants my daughter (7months) to drink 12 oz. of water a day. Problem: She won't drink the water! Prefers her juice. Any ideas to get her to drink water??
