Is this the one yall drink to induce??? I'm desperate
So because some babies are ok means you should try it. Some people survive being shot let’s all do that! Stupidest logic ever!
OP, it sounds like everyone else answered your question... however, on another note, did your doctor tell you why he won't induce and is just choosing to go straight to c-section... I'd definitely demand an answer to that one just so I felt comfortable. I was reading(all the comments) and realized you said you already had a vbac, so I know that can't be it
Man. I understand being impatient but what’s another week?
@candacelashea, if you don't want to get called out for your ridiculous statement, feel free to delete it and save others from reading your nonsense.
@candacelashea, "Death isn't a guaranteed." Great way to start out parenthood. 🙄
@nmarti95 I used to have it but my phone shit on me and deleted all my pics
Seems to me if you are that desperate why not seek medical help? If you're doctor who is certified in that profession won't induce you, it's because you can wait longer. Why would you try and do otherwise? Selfish. Being pregnant is hard the last week's but you must stay strong. You're putting your child at risk. But I'm sure you know this
I lost one future cousin because my aunt thought this would be so helpful to induce. She had bad diahrrea , strong stomach pain and that caused the baby to move around alot causing him to strangle himself inside because he was distressed But you go on and kill or put that precious baby in risk too if that's what you want
@shyia722 has confused herself at this point. Holy hell this is a clusterfuck. If you were my nurse, I would immediately ask for a new one just based on how you’re carrying yourself here.
I don’t even know why I’m bothering to comment on this but I see there is a debate about how castor oil doesn’t cross the placenta so can’t affect baby. The issue with this argument is that it’s not the castor oil itself that harms baby. It’s the fact that castor oil causes you to have intense cramps and diarrhea which in turn puts baby in distress, leading to increased chance that baby will poop in the womb, inhale it and suffocate or get an infection. You can find this information easily on scholarly articles peer reviewed by actual doctors on google.
I know im coming in late and the chance of op reading this are slim, but im gunna try anyway. I have never taken castor oil, but I have had a baby pass meconium in the womb, during my third labour my son became stressed while I was pushing, his heart rate dropped and before I knew it the midwife was pressing the emergency button and the room filled with medical personnel. He was delivered minutes later not breathing his mouth and nose were full of meconium, he was rushed to one of those special cots and they worked on him clearing his airways and finally after what felt like the longest time of my life he finally cried, I didnt realise that I had been holding my breath with him until that moment.. thankfully the meconium didnt cause infection, we were incredibly lucky but it doesnt always work out that way. Please don't risk experiencing what I did, hold on in there mama youre so close to the end.
It’s the one you drink if you feel like pissing out of your ass for two days, potentially not going into labor at all, and if you do also potentially killing your baby while it floats around in its own poop while you labor for hours.
@mommyof1boyy I know a woman that took some meds while Prego to this day her 3 yr old suffers from seizures due to those damn meds her Drs prescribed to her...Drs are book smart they don't know it all
I would die if I found out this chick was my “surgeon”. Like, literally I’d probably die. How can someone be educated with six years of knowledge and speak that way? If you couldn’t learn basic grammar during your six years of college lord help the women who have to be underneath your assisting surgical hands, or whatever you claim they are. 🙄😑
@nakeily1112 then talk to your doctor about the reason behind it and see if you can come to an agreement like I did with mine. As long as there's no issues I don't see why another csection is necessary, it's not too late to change doctors even though you're 39 weeks. Just keep yourself very active, and try all the SAFE alternatives consistently and hopefully that will help you get goinf.
My husband works on airplanes, but that doesn’t make him a pilot
Oh my God, you don't perform C-sections! You are a nurse. I have mad respect for nurses, and there are a lot of situations where nurses do more hands on work than the doctors, but surgery is not one of them. Doctors perform surgeries. You assist. End of story.
@shyia722, okay okay. You’re story is wacky tabacky. First you were an OR nurse, once we called you out on that..you’re suddenly this amazing doctor who does everything 🤦🏼♀️
Ok well I’ve spent way too much Time fighting with the doctor on ML, I’m going to Chuck E. Cheese. See ya 👌🏼
@shyia722, all I know is if I went to my csection and a assist is performing my section I would immediately decline. I’ve never hear of an assist performing the actual surgery. Are u sure that’s legal? 🤔
A nurse can't perform surgery only a doctor can. Girl stop fucking lying.
@shyia722 the doctor is still the one performing the surgery, not you. The doctor can do the surgery without you, you cannot do the surgery without the doctor. That makes the doctor the one who is performing it 🤦♀️
@shyia722, but but but..that’s not performing surgery, you make sure the surgical team has what they need when it’s needed, you stand and watch and help if you’re needed, you do the books, you set up the OR, sometimes you stay and clean the OR..sutures is way different than actually PERFORMING a surgery,
To be a surgeon you need way more schooling than 4 years and a damn certification/lisence lmao
@shyia722, you sound bitter as fuck no offense lol 😂😂😂
@shyia722, BSN, Im currently in home health working hospice
@shyia722, honey I know you’re job I’m in the same field lol
@shyia722, I worked in L&D for 2 years lol I went to the OR lots of time.
I can legally remove sutures but I sure as hell don’t deliver babies 🤷🏻♀️
Yes you can suture but not deliver babies... 2 totally different fields lol
@shyia722, what?! First you said they weren’t and now you’re saying they are? It’s either that or your English is fricken terrible..now idk what you’re talking about 😂 I’m so fucking confused dude
@shyia722, over 387 surgeries, like 388?? 😂😂😂 sorry that made me laugh it was so accurate.
@shyia722, damn they let u hold a knife? I’m a nurse they’ve never let me cut someone open 🤔
@august.rae, thank you 😂 she’s an OR nurse, meaning she might be in the OR helping the surgical team, but she doesn’t perform surgery’s, if she did, I wouldn’t trust her. Just sayin.
@bitchcraft, yeah what would you know you FTM. Obviously FTM don’t research things or know anything about child birth or care. 😳
@shyia722, u actually said you’ve been ‘performing Surgeries for 2 years’ lol
@shyia722, it can kill your baby There may be fetal distress. This means that the baby is compromised before labour or during the birth process. Use of castor oil may result in low oxygen levels which can result in the death of the fetus, if the baby is not delivered immediately. The mother feels decreased movement of the baby.
There’s many reasons why it’s not safe
@shyia722, you’re nuts! You’re a nurse..a nurse..you don’t perform surgery’s and you clearly over exaggerate everything. My post was stating that Meds CAN be passed through to the babies. You’re wild 😂😂
Not none of my business but she only asked for a question not people to be mean and arguing over what’s right and what’s wrong everyone has their own opinions but let’s be real you ladies arguing and fussing like little kids I’m pretty sure she googled on what could happen she only posted a picture not of her actually drinking smh 🤦♀️ you ladies need to grow up
I’m an RN and we do not advise castor oil, I used to work in OB
I haven't done it myself but my mom did when pregnant with me I pooped before I came out because of it and it almost killed me. I was very sick for a while after that and so was my mama. Since then I have heard of many mamas losing there precious babies because of it. I totally get being ready but just wanted to share my experience with you doll. Hoping the best for you and hope you have baby soon
@mariapb, I get it but that’s really no excuse to not consider someone’s feelings. We never know what ppl are going through personally so I think taking the time out to think about how we say things can make a difference. Depression is so high, suicide rates are high. I’m not saying she’s either of those things but someone may be, and when we learn to be considerate we might just save a life. We are adults we should have better control over our speech than this.
@mommyof1boyy, lml I know but I know they see all 1000 comments saying the same exact thing they blowing this poor woman’s phone up with all these notifications lol
@lee-lee, it’s a touchy subject for a lot of people because people have lost or know people who have lost babies because of it. It will always get people’s backs up.
I really can’t believe this is still going 🤦🏽♀️ let it go ppl there are literally bigger issues in the world !!!! I think she got the point castor oil is risky sheesh.
@_ejx2, someone actually said that? It’s like highschool all over again lmao. Like okay, let’s fist fight over castor oil. Cool man, cool.
@mariapb, no one said giving information is wrong, however how it’s given can be wrong. I’ve seen some very informative comments that were worded very nicely. Then there’s some nasty ones. We are all adults and should know the difference.
“Settling things in person” trashy if you ask me 😏
Some people act like children here. I thought we were all grown adults.
Jumping off a bridge isn’t guaranteed to kill you but why do it 🤷🏻♀️
So now we have to sugar coat things we say? Gtfo here! You’re putting a baby at risk!! Until you’ve loss a child you’ll never know how shitty it feels. You would do everything in your power to keep that baby safe no matter how uncomfortable, miserable and blah blah blah you feel.
Don’t do it my sister pooped on herself doing delivery 😣
@nakeily1112, anyways girl, I could care less for the drama. I like settling things in person, not behind a keyboard💁🏽♀️
I hope you get the advice you want and need. I know nothing about castor oil, but apparently it’s bad for you. Maybe just ask your doctor beforehand and don’t make any quick decisions based on everything that is said on these comments. Protect yourself and MOST importantly protect your baby. Maybe try other natural ways to self induce, Ive heard red leaf tea helps (don’t go by my word though, def ask a doctor)
I do however know that exercising a little heavier than usual does work well though!!! And it’s 100% natural. Maybe go for a light jog, just don’t strain your body. Baby will come eventually. If it is by c-section I’m sorry since that’s not what you want. Goodluck though.
@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma I had a c-section with my first and it was cuz she was breech my second one I was induced at 42..so I dont see any issues being induced
My only 2 cents that no one asked for that I will share is for the mom that said “where in the bottle does it highlight ‘not to use when pregnant’” just because something doesn’t have a warning sign doesn’t mean we should ingest it. There’s also common sense and google (research) I know that in the past Castor oil has come up as safe, I don’t remember why I bought it one time... it was before I was pregnant and it was so nasty looking and thick. I would never think about taking that in my life. It’s exhausting at the very end to say the least, walk a little more, have sex, drink raspberry leaf tea, try all natural ways if you must. Some moms I know say baby will come when s/he is ready but if you feel the need to do something, do that. Those things won’t harm the baby, in fact it’s not even guaranteed it’ll bring you to labor. But it could help speed up the process, baby will come when it’s time. Hang in there! We’re all going through it with you!
@selena_vargas119334, lmaooo who are you telling I’m digging in my fridge as we speak.
@lee-lee, yesss girl yess. I could really go for some kiwis right now. All these unpleasant moms are getting me hungry lol.
Please OP don't try this. One my of friends tried this and almost lost her daughter. There's other ways to induce yourself. You're only 39 weeks, baby still needs the last few days to grow. Baby will come out when ready. Just try to relax! Take a walk, hang out with friends, etc. Have some time to yourself before baby comes. Enjoy being pregnant these last few days because once baby is here you'll miss it!
@august.rae, I think it’s nice for moms to look out for other moms. However, there are moms on here attacking. Especially the ones saying if you want to kill your baby and say how she’s being selfish. Like there is just a better way to get someone to understand where your trying to come from without being so aggressive about it. That’s what I’m trying to say! I personally don’t know anything about castor oil. But I know I would much rather take advice from the mom that says, don’t take it because this and this, rather than the mom that says your gonna kill your baby and blah blah. It’s just unnecessary to get your point across that way!
Informing someone of risks isn’t attacking them at all! Maybe we should all be like”yeah that’s totally the right thing to drink, good luck” because giving someone information is obviously very wrong! 🤔
She just asked a question but no it’s very dangerous I would not try it good luck on getting things moving tho @nakeily1112,
I can't seem to find one person that attacked the OP
@selena_vargas119334, girl I’m truly astonished at some of these comments. I’m sitting her like are y’all seriously attacking someone for asking a question. They need to eat some fruit and simmer down. Oh wait fruit has risk of listeria never mind. Lmaoooooo I’m sorry but this is crazy talking to someone like that and thinking it’s ok is nuts.
Oh. I must have missed all the comments where people were attacking her.
As many times as ppl say castor oil is not safe they don’t listen. Now it’s even consider rude to help other ppl out.
@laniejay, where I’m from it is recommended a lot but it is always before 40 weeks because of the meconium factor. I was just telling her she should talk to a doctor about it and try other natural ways first, her doctor seems like he may be pushing her to do it his way she could always switch doctors instead of being pushed into self inducing.
@selena_vargas119334, I don’t see many moms attacking her directly. It’s just a lot of women fighting with eachother on her post. The first couple comments weren’t very nice though. I see a lot more ladies fighting with one specific person.
@selena_vargas119334, NOONE is attacking her, wouldn’t you be happy if moms came to let you know you may be harming your UNBORN child? Trust me I see you’re a FTM once you have your baby in your arms you will UNDERSTAND why we feel this way about castor oil.
@tipsymermaid, or maybe, just maybe she thought, hmmm this is an app filled with moms. Let me ask a question and get some feedback because NO ONE on this app is perfect and can give me some suggestions and help. I truly doubt she thought she was gonna post this and half the “moms” on here attack her!!! 🤦🏽♀️
@cjl020415, rarely under certain medical circumstances while being monitored castor oil can be recommended. Not on your own at home without being monitored and all medical scenarios discussed.
The person fighting the hardest is trying to self induce at 36 weeks because she’s “over it”. I’d definitely take medical advice from someone who is not concerned with her child’s health at all 🙄.
@nakeily1112, try natural ways. Nipple stim, sex, rolling your hips on a ball, etc. your body will go into labor when it’s ready. And you do not have to consent to a csection just because. The doctor can monitor you closely over 40 weeks. Sounds like he’s being lazy. A due date is an estimation not an expiration.
Did you have a csection in any of your other pregnancies? My doctor also wanted to schedule a repeat csection for me at 39 weeks but I didn't want him to. With my son I didn't dilate all the way and his head ended up crooked so he couldn't make his way into the birth canal because his head was too big so size became a concern with my doctor this time around, he's worried about the baby being too big this time but we had a talk about the options and the pros and cons and we came to an agreement, he does not want me going past 41 weeks so he scheduled the repeat for 3 days after my due date and he's going to allow me time to let myself go into labor on my own first. Maybe you can discuss it with your doctor and come up with an agreement? If you've never had a csection before then I'd ask the doctor what his reasoning is and if there really is no real reason I'd get a new doctor right away.
@nakeily1112, you’re welcome don’t let these ladies comments get to you ok. You’re doing fine you asked a question and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. That’s what the app is for asking questions and gaining support.
She should have known she was gonna get these types of comments when she says she’s desperate to induce at 39 weeks and asks about castor oil.
@august.rae, I’m NOT pro Castro oil. Please tell me where I said I was?
I just don’t feel the need to be judgmental about telling another mom not to do it because whatever reasoning.
@tiera_shaye I know I was induced with my sec nd had a c-section with the first one...I rather go thru pitocin then getting cut
@cjl020415, if your OB or midwife tells you to take it then she should really switch doctors because that’s fucking ridiculous.
I think OP should do some research and speak with her doctor about it, some doctors and midwives still recommend castor oil if the mother is facing Pitocin induction and wants to try it naturally. There are other things you can do besides castor oil so I would just seek medical advice and try everything besides the oil first. After 40 weeks babies have a high chance of pooping in the womb anyway, some midwives and doctors will recommend trying this at 39 weeks because it can increase the chances of meconium passing in the womb. I think a lot of comments are coming off rude even if they weren’t meant that way, she just needs to do her own research and consult her doctor before thinking about it.
@selena_vargas119334, damn you’re rude too. All the moms that are pro castor oil are abunch of mean ladies. Ewww
If you want to kill your baby, then yes.
