When can I start giving my son regular milk? He turns 10 months in 2 days. I bought unsweetened almond milk yesterday so he can try. Would that be okay? I’m lowkey tired of him on formula but I mean he’s still a baby lol.
@doctor.p I've known doctors and Pedatricians to put baby's on COWS MILK even at a month old. It depends on the circumstances and in cases like where my daughter suffered from severe constipation all the time from newborn to 9 month's I wish I would have listened to my parents and put her on cows milk a lot way sooner. I know a lady also who started her son on cows milk at 6 month's and he did great. Does that make her a bad mom? NO WAY! I feel you should always check with a doctor or Pedatrician first but they aren't always right.
I gave my kids a little peanut butter at around 8 months...and transitioned them to cows milk at 10/11 months...it's really up to you..your baby your choice
I also was told to start peanut butter at 6 months for exact what @tacos4lyfe stated.
12 months. Focus on purees, you can steam veggies and mash them yourself. Or mash up some banana. What’s fun to give them at this age is those little hand held mesh food dispensers, you put a whole piece of fruit in it like a strawberry or slice of peeled orange and let them munch away- only tiny pieces can get through the mesh and it gives them a whole new set of flavors!
I gave my son milk at 10 months only 1% then at 11 months I gave him 2% and kept going up so by the time he was one I had him on whole milk ... its all up to u really
@mommydelacruz, just don’t give a lot of PB at once. Because it’s thick and you wouldn’t want them to choke. But a little bit at a time is fine.
It’s actually advised to introduce high allergen foods earlier on. They have less of a chance of being allergic. Of course there are extenuating circumstances but is is ok to give PB before 1.
@jesuslover82, I never heard of any pediatricians to put infants on cows milk before. Infants can have sensitivity to certain type of formula so I know they’d recommend different type of formulas but I never heard of putting them on cows milk. I also don’t think anyone is a bad mom, every mom will try to do her best with her children, as I always recommend to always talk to your pediatricians before taking any advice online as well

I was told to start peanut butter at 6 months. You can give him things with dairy in it. Yogurt and cheese are great. I didn’t start transitioning my kids to milk until after their 1st birthday. As far as meats he will not choke. Bite size pieces and let him feed himself. He can have whatever you are eating. Good way to expand their pallet. No need for puréed baby food.
@tacos4lyfe, I didn’t know this about peanut butter. I haven’t had a baby since 2009. Thank you
@tacos4lyfe, yes thank you. I was just coming to say this. But you said it a lot better than I could have
Just chiming in about peanut butter- the recommendations have changed and studies are showing you can actually decrease the likelihood of your child developing a peanut allergy if you start giving it to them in very small amounts at 6 months
As for milk, wait until they are 12 months same with honey

@jesuslover82, I wasn’t looking to argue either. I simply asked you why you recommend it that’s all.
@doctor.p Because it's ok to that's why. I'm not looking to argue just answering her question. I put my daughter on cows milk at 10 month's and she loves it and Pedatrician said it was fine.
@oktoberwitch, wow! Thank you! I haven’t gave him peanut butter in a few months so this makes me happy that I stopped. I’m glad your son is okay
I read up to the peanut butter thing and just want to comment.
My son is extremely allergic to peanut butter and I didn’t know. He had it almost every day and never had a reaction. We took him for an unrelated allergy test, had him tested and turns out he’s a few peanuts away from having a deadly reaction.
You typically don’t have a reaction until you build up the allergy enough.
I’m not bashing you at all, I just want to let you know to be careful with allergens :)
@mommydelacruz, no problem. If you have any more questions let me know. I know being a FTM can be overwhelming
@doctor.p, thank you! You helped a lot. I give him a taste of it but I won’t be replacing the milk.
@jesuslover82, why are you recommending for her to give her baby milk right now? Can you enlighten me? Ive always been taught to give milk after 1
@salt., I don’t wanna give him meat meat cuz I’m scared he’ll choke
Even when you offer baby food or table food always offer the formula first , as it’s the main source of nutrition. Food before one is just for fun
@salt., I can give him fish? What kind ? I give him chicken now he loves it.
@mommydelacruz, yeah that’s weird that your pedi didn’t mention no peanut butter. It goes hand in hand with the no honey talk
@mommydelacruz, give him very small bites. But his main source of nutrition should be formula
@mommydelacruz, good. Also you can speak to your pedi about the milk and peanut butter to get a different opinion then us but they’ll tell you the same thing
@mommydelacruz, he only needs formula. And you can try baby foods and soft foods like mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs. But even then I wouldn’t do that until he has teeth
@its.a.bird, no I get wic. I just wanted him to try new things.
@doctor.p, @damn.it.red, no one mentioned not to give the baby peanut butter but honey I knew about already.
@doctor.p, mine did when I had my first.
@doctor.p, yes, I haven’t and won’t be giving it to him anymore.
@mommydelacruz, your doctor hasn’t told you not to give him peanut butter? No peanut butter or honey until after a year.
@2sweetie, I wasn’t gonna take him off completely. I wanted him to try it.
@mommydelacruz, good for him that it hasn’t caused him any issues. But I’d still recommend for you to stop giving it to him. And experiment with puréed baby food or even some soft table foods
@damn.it.red, okay, I’m a new mom and I didn’t know. So don’t give me your “wow” thank you
@dr.mazzika_gphd_m.d._edd_psyd, okay I already decided to not give him the almond milk
@doctor.p, really? Wow well he hasn’t had an allergic reaction. And he hasn’t had peanut butter in like 2 months.
10 months is too young to take him off formula. You could try giving him little tastes of almond milk but not as a replacement to formula. He has plenty of time to try new things. He’s just a baby.
@mommydelacruz, yeah your also not supposed to give him peanut butter. He’s too young for that and it can cause him to end up having an allergy.
@mommydelacruz, no. They aren’t supposed to have any milk type product other than formula until they are a year old. He could have a nut allergy.
@mommydelacruz, I wouldn’t recommend that. It can mess up his stomach
@mommydelacruz, I understand , but don’t rush the process. They need certain stuff at certain stages of their life.
@damn.it.red, can I give him formula and almond milk ? Like alternate it every other day?
They have to have the nutrients and vitamins that are in formula until they are a year old.
Why you tired of him being on formula? But I started giving my daughter milk at like 11 months so she’s get used to it when she turned one
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
