Twin mommas who tandem breastfeed. How did you manage to get both babies situated to feed by yourself? Right now my babies are in the NICU so I have a nurse to help me get both on every time but as we get closer to going home I'm unsure of how I'm going to continue tandem feeding them when my husband goes back to work. I would really like to continue tandem feeding so I'm not spending my whole day feeding babies.

It sounded like she pumped and did the bottle with her breast milk. I would definitely switch every time which baby got to breast feed cause I agree, they both need and deserve that bonding time. The football is definitely the best for tandem, just getting them and their wobbly heads in place is the tricky part 😂

@db3, like pump for one? Or formula? That actually sounds like a good idea. If they’ll take a bottle. Just make sure you don’t only breastfeed one and bottle feed the other. I read a story on here about a multiples mommy who did that and it broke my heart for the baby that didn’t get that bond with the mommy. I know it’s hard and we do our best but come on. You gotta breastfeed them all 😂
It’s very hard! I think the “football” way is easiest for tandem feeding.

@mommynes oh no, that's what I'm afraid of! It is super tricky getting two babies to latch with help, on my own seems impossible. I've read some people breastfed one and bottle fed the other then switched at every feeding. That might be more realistic. We shall see lol

I hope you can figure out a way! I couldn’t. I did it in the hospital with help but once I got home I was only able to do it once. I only breastfed for three months because as you said, I spent day and night feeding and it was exhausting!

@spookylyn thanks, I think I will do that! Trying to save as much time as possible having two babies lol. Once I go back to work I'll only tandem feed in the early morning and evenings when my husband is home to help but I want to do it for my maternity leave so the girls stay on the same schedule for when I do go back to work.
