I don't like that the chest clip is so massive. I which they had a smaller size for like 1 year and younger. And then had the one that's on it for bigger babies.

Dd's infant carrier chest clip was perfect. This one makes it hard for me to get a good harness fit. And the way dd sits (always leaning her head up) it digs into her chin.. or should I say her double chin? Lol. Still, It bothers her because it doesn't lay as flat as her other one.

I've brought a small rolled up blanket to put next to DD's head. Seams to help a bit. Once they get a bit taller they rest it on the headwings

the straps are already below her shoulders.

we tried it without the insert but she would get leaned over on her arm and she couldn't get herself back up off of it (because the harness is tight and she's just learned how to lean herself up really well, but it takes a lot more movement than what the harness allows) and then she gets mad.

and we tried it without the insert on our trip home.. she slept for an hour and her head was still rolling forward. I kept having to push her head back or just hold it myself, I was in the backseat with her. I'm going to try the head support tomorrow and see of that helps. she's only rode in it twice so I haven't gotten to figure much else out yet :)

I have this same seat in the same color :) what angle is it at? You can download the app called simply angle for free and lay your phone flat where your lo's back lays but not on the insert. Without the angle adjuster my dd's head never rolled forward. It did go to the side though.

Removing the insert may let your Lo sit a bit more reclined too. If you remove the insert you may need to lower the harness down a slot so they are at or below the shoulders.

Glad you went with this one! DH and I each have one in our cars. Hands down sturdiest car seat made!

Our LOs are the same age and about the same size. We still use the head support pillow, I just moved it up a little bit (you can velcro through the taller slots and it will stay put). Never had an issue with head slumping. Hope this helps!

^^it sucks you were in a wreck and had to replace your van and the carseats but I'm glad your babies were ok! :)

@October: I have twins. Two Radians in the van, two in the car, and two we had to replace after an accident. My van was annihilated but my boys were safe!!

Hmm, I'm not sure what to do then, usually that fixes the issues. Maybe call diono and ask what you can do

she is strapped is tight :) I can't pinch the harness above the chest clip and I keep that right at arm pit level. it is reclined back as far as it can go. but when she falls asleep her head rolls to the side, which if she were in an infant seat or she had head wings it would stop there.. but after a few minutes it rolls forward.

she has great head control when she is awake.. she's 6 1/2 months and she is wayy to tall for the infant head support. lol. I tried it. but we still have the body support in it.. as u can see in the pic

Make sure she is strapped in properly nice and tight and the chest clip is up, since she is younger she had to be at 45 degree angle so that should combat all the head slumping issues, I don't know how old she is but it does come with the infant/baby head support. If that helps

do any of y'all have a little one who doesn't use the head wings yet? how do you keep their head from slumping waaayyy down when they fall asleep? I'm scared for dd to fall asleep in it because of how far down her head goes.

would the memory foam strap covers help? I took them off because I felt like they irritated dd and like I couldn't get a good fit. is there a trick to it?

they only thing I don't like about this seat is that the head wings are only adjustable part of the way down instead of all the way down. I don't understand why they don't have them like that. I would feel better about her head in the event of a side impact crash and also I think if they went lower then dd's head would rest up against them when she slept, like it does in her infant seat.

We love ours too! I really wanted the purple but my SO refused to get my son a "girl color". My boy can rock purple! Lol. You'll love the seat :) plus it RF until 45 pounds!! Yay ERF!!
