В Оклахоме дети до 8 лет на заднем сиденье могут не пристегиваться?

I just learned something that is completely absurd to me….

In Oklahoma, back seat passengers 8 years old and under aren’t required to buckle up.

They proposed a bill to change it last year but nothing has been done. I thought it was 16 and up but apparently it’s 8…. Freaking 8! But at the same time an 8 year old is still supposed to be in a booster.

What in the world!!! I mean, shouldn’t seatbelts just be required for everyone in the vehicle, no matter their age?! That’s my rules lol

@supermomof4, yes, girl! It’s crazy that this is even a discussion. These laws are wild!!

wowww!! My oldest will be 8 in less than two weeks & I couldn’t imagine letting him ride without his seatbelt. He’s just now getting big enough to start talking about getting out of his high back booster. 😬

I don't need a law to tell me how to keep my children safe. My babies will ALWAYS be buckled in. So sad that just because the law there doesnt require it many choose not to. There's right, wrong and then the law. Always choose to do the right thing!

That's how it is unfortunately, that's what laws exists. Can you imagine how many people, who are "good upstanding citizens", would be monsters if there wasn't a law against things? They're only good people because the law tells them to be

When I was in the military one of the first lessons in basic training was that locks keep honest people honest, they don't stop the dishonest. Sad, but true. Truly good and law abiding people don't need laws to tell the right from wrong. Morals shouldn't be dictated by the popularity of todays passing fads.

honestly, morals are often dictated by one's society, religion, laws, etc. If we didn't have those things, smh, the world would be a scary, or scarier place. Truly good people are rare, law biding people are just that, law biding
