how do you live after having a baby!?

I feel like i can't do anything. Dd is so good during the day if we go shopping or whatever but the second it hits 8pm all hell breaks loose if we're not home and putting her to bed. I can't go to a friend's house without leaving early. I've tried having her nap in my arms but she just won't do it. I just can't be out late with her in general. I'm not referring to partying or anything. SO and i are just night people and we prefer to do things later in the evening.

Mines always in bed for 7.30 latest so we are always home latest 7pm. Your schedule just changes with kids. You get up earlier but end up in bed earlier.

I invite people to ours for food after baby is in bed if I want to see people for adult evenings.

We are off on hols 7 weeks & fully prepared to be back in accommodation for her bedtime. We've done camping trips with her previously & bedtime is usually stretched out by an hour as her naps generally fall later in day due to busy day & lots to see to keep her awake for longer.

I'd def plan to make most of daytime at Disney as nighttime probably won't happen. Hopefully she will fall asleep in pram while you are out in day so you won't have to go back to apartment to get her to nap in day.

My son slept at 6 pm and napped in my arms in the day for his first year, imagine that lol

Sleep is better for her than being out, she's just a baby

We established a bed time since birth. At 7:30 I get dd in the bath and then I get her ready for bed. We read a book and then she goes to bed. At first it was hard but she got used to the routine. She is 19mos now and goes down very easily. Unfortunately though she won't nap in my arms or anything! We have learned to work around her sleep schedule.

I use to stay up until 1 am every night. Now my dd takes her naps around 1 and bedtime is at 8. I work my schedule around hers. Keeping her out just doesn't work and throws everything off. It took me a while to get used to it but now I don't mind. I use to be social but now I enjoy being home and just relaxing after she goes to bed and having alone time.

Oh and my dd was the one that chose her bedtime. It use to be around 9 but then kept getting earlier and was 730 at one point but now 8 or 830 is her usual. We can push it till nine if she's in a good mood and isn't cranky and we're out doing something but that's rare. She'll be two in a month.

Sounds like you need to adjust your lifestyle to suit her needs instead of the other way around. I'm currently in bed at 8:15 on a Friday night because that's what time my son goes to sleep & mama needs all the rest she can get. Is it glamorous? Nope. Would I rather be hanging with my friends? Yep. But my baby needs to go to bed early & that's my priority.

It definitely can feel lonely because usually us with small children have to leave gatherings early, chase little humans all around instead of chit chatting with everyone else, leave the room to nurse or change baby, it get it. It's definitely an adjustment, especially if you're otherwise really social. For now you'll probably have to work around her, but it won't last forever mama. ❤

My LO has a strong internal clock. He goes down at 7 and is up at 7 (but wakes up a million times in between ?). I prioritize his sleep and accept the fact this is how my life is for now. So no advice just saying I can relate.

I didn't. I'm just sleepwalking or zombie-walking, if you will, through it all.

I just live around her a schedule. Before I know it she'll be grown and I'll have all my time to myself again. I can wait because I know I'll miss this.

Trying to change her schedule instead of adapting to hers when you can is just unnecessary misery for both of you... they're a baby... 8pm isn't an unreasonable time for them to want to go to bed. My dd had to be down around 7 or she wouldn't go down without a fight.

My babies content doing pretty much anything if he's tired he will nap anywhere stroller arms floor etc. I don't notice much difference in my life since having him other than having to bring extra stiff along and make sure we have all we need

Im surprised that you are able to make it till 8pm. Babies need their sleep.

Both my kids have an internal clock that is totally out of my hands, look into getting a mini bed you can take with you? I have one that folds up into a pocket of the diaper bag.

Babies need their sleep you just have to accept that and adjust and do things earlier.

She's so interested in everything that is going on that she can't/won't go to sleep. As I'm writing this I'm laying in my aunt's bed nursing he to sleep. But since she's asleep in an actual bed i can't just leave her while i go visit with my family. I've also tried changing her bedtime gradually but she will not accept a later bedtime.

Maybe you could adjust her sleeping schedule in my house we tend to stay up later and wake later since we have homeschool it's not an issue .

In the future it will be difficult to adjust if you plan on putting them in school tho.

Would she do better maybe if you tried babywearing? Mine always pass out when I wear them. They love being close and snuggle and warm. I know a lot of babies need structure though, unfortunately.

DS was the same way. I had him on a bedtime schedule to help him sleep better at night - if we weren't home to out him to bed by 7:30/8 at the latest it was bad. Just meant I had to leave events early, cuz I could never get him to take an extra nap either in my arms.

Now that he's 19 mo we can get away with being out later.

Unfortunately, you just have to adjust. I can't be out late with my son either.

You can have a life with a baby, you just need to make changes in your life and get used to them.

With both babies and kids, routine is absolutely key. Once we had one established I just stuck with it at a friend's house. Quiet room, the same music on my phone, breastfeeding then sleep. You could try wearing her at Disney? Or for a few weeks before pop her in a stroller at nap time & establish stroller naps as a part of her routine. In a word, yes life does go on! You just have to adapt ;)

How old is your LO? Maybe it's a witching hour thing? I remember this when dd was really young.

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

So My coworker does not get vaccinated for anything due to religious practices and she’s worried about our job making it mandatory since they discussed it earlier this week. It’s crazy how when vaccines even started or came about we were told it would be voluntary but now it’s mandatory and people need a verification card to go certain places. We even have certain states doing lottery drawings just to make people get it. people shouldn’t fear losing their jobs or having to go against their religious beliefs when we were told it was voluntary. I think this is wrong that companies are doing this.

need suggestions.... So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
