So My coworker does not get vaccinated for anything due to religious practices and she’s worried about our job making it mandatory since they discussed it earlier this week. It’s crazy how when vaccines even started or came about we were told it would be voluntary but now it’s mandatory and people need a verification card to go certain places. We even have certain states doing lottery drawings just to make people get it. people shouldn’t fear losing their jobs or having to go against their religious beliefs when we were told it was voluntary. I think this is wrong that companies are doing this.
I don’t. Working for a company is optional. If you can’t follow their policy and requirements find a place that doesn’t mandate vaccines or start your own business. These companies have a lot at jeopardy. They have to keep themselves, their staff and customers safe. What happens when their business is closed down because there is a wide spread of covid within their business? Who has to deal with that? The company, The owner.
Wait what states are doing a lottery drawings for people to get vaccinated if they don't want to get vaccinated??? that can't be true. Plus people who are vaccinated can still get covid and pass covid on so how does an unvaccinated person make it less safe makes no sense.. so are these companies that are making their employees get vaccinated only letting customers come in their store or who they do business with be vaccinated?? Because that would make sense right if everyone has to be vaccinated they work with I guess their customers have to be to
@squishymommy1, for real I was like this comment doesn’t even deserve a response 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏾♀️
@prettygirlrock1214surromom, Sometimes I can’t help myself 😩 😂
@ekko, yes I understand! Sometimes I start typing a response and just delete it halfway through like what’s the point lol
I mean did you forget to start school we needed to take our vaccination records?
Everyone saying get vaccinated because it’s the right thing to do not just for you but for everyone and how much we need to take care of one another and love thy neighbor But those same people telling you to love one another sure are quick to let you know you deserve death shall you get sick and need medical treatment and you don’t have a covid vaccine. I’m confused if those folks truly do care about others or if they only care when the other person does what they want them to do.
@ekko, damnit she blocked me. I can’t read anything y’all are saying. Screen shot it for me 😂
People like to feel controlled I learned that today I’m no follower of anything or anyone and I be damn if someone said I had to put something in my body too eat breath and live. This is supposed to be America land of the free but the beginning of the end is coming quit clearly. The amount of brain washed people are so scary. Our whole family has had covid 3 times no one ever got nothing more than a head cold.
@wellabean0413, builds the amune system lol nothing more than a head cold to us. Keep sheltering your poor kids and they want have a amune system at all. That’s cute how y’all think a shot is gonna pretect you from a virus lol just like those silly mask you all wear.
@wellabean0413, Imagine how reckless and irresponsible you have to be to get covid 3 times. Not sure I believe that anyway. 🤨 They must have poor “amune” systems to continue to get covid.
@wellabean0413, oh long term side effects you say just like that new vaccine 🤣 enjoy 😉 your future we are doing well and very healthy.
Maybe find a job she can work from home or start a business. With the way the numbers have been going the last few months I don’t see the issue.
Where in the Bible does it say “thou shalt not vaccinate?”
@imacat not true if I refuse to take birth control incan become pregnant then the employer has to find someone to take my place while on leave. If I get say strep, mono, c diff, Mrsa, hepatitis, hiv I don't have to take drugs to treat those. All which are contagious.
We are in a pandemic meaning we don’t have enough herd immunity so it’s extremely dangerous to not get vaccinated. People are still dying at an alarming rate.
Is there a pandemic right now for any of the things you just mentioned ? No.
furthermore, girl you know damn well what I mean when I say it only affects you meaning your body. I’m not talking about an employer needing to look for someone to cover you which wouldn’t be that hard.
Unvaccinated people can pass that infection on to others in their family, at the workplace, literally anywhere. In other words, “your choice about your body” can result in many other bodies being negatively impacted.
Have a nice day.
@ekko, she’s about to fall from how far she’s reaching.
@no062014 For all of those, except HIV, if you were to infect me with any, or all, of which you've listed, I can seek treatment, my life wouldn't necessarily be in grave danger if you refuse to get treatment and put me at risk. Furthermore, none of those have caused a pandemic, but correct me if I'm wrong. Now HIV, it has such a specific route of infection, if you knowingly infect someone with HIV, that's a crime. Anyway, let's say you did infect someone with HIV, it may be an epidemic, but it was never a pandemic, also, individuals who are HIV positive live long healthy lives with treatment. If you refused treatment, that doesn't mean I would be affected, as long as I'm not swapping certain body fluids with you. Covid-19 is far deadlier than all the infections you've mentioned.
I agree with you. It shouldn't be mandated if she was employed without vaccines to begin with.
My body my choice is chanted so often, but can't be respected when other choices come to into play.
My place of employment is requiring it and I work from home! I don't have the option to change industries.
@no062014 I'm sorry it affected your thyroid, I truly am. Covid could have affected your thyroid too had you been infected. The thyroid hormone production is often affected by viral and respiratory infections. I really hope that your endocrinologist will find something that will work to lower your tsh and thyroid hormones
I was infected with covid, so was my husband and daughter back in November of 2019, when everyone was told its just a random virus. I lost sense of smell, taste and my hearing was muffled, pounding headache, and a cough that lasted months, chest tightness and an on again off again fever. Oddly did not affect my asthma, or thyroid. Hubby had shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell cough that did not go away and a fever for 2 weeks. my daughter was weird with vomiting and diarrhea and had a fever and cough for 2 weeks. August of 2020 we still had decently high antibodies.
I'd rather have covid again then the symptoms from my thyroid.
It’s still your body your choice but it’s their company and their choice 🤷🏼♀️
I work as a Recruiter and a lot of our clients are starting to require it here in CT. One bank won’t even interview candidates that aren’t vaccinated. Like even if they say they’ll get vaccinated upon hire they’re like nope we’re not interviewing people in person that aren’t vaccinated.
@justgotaname, which is pretty unrealistic “it’s your choice because you don’t have to work here” but when every place is requiring it what option will she have? Not everyone has the funds to start up a business, some live paycheck to paycheck. Homelessness and poverty is already a huge problem in this country it’ll just make it a even bigger problem.
See, I still see it as there being a choice. Vaccinate or don’t work there. Those are the choices. You are free to make yours. Arby’s probably won’t require it. The requiring business are trying to save lives and trying to save their business. Either help, or get out.
I get it, from both sides, I understand. It's easier said than done to just "find a new job," but companies set their own rules as long as it doesn't go against state laws or federal laws... Mandating vaccines don't go against either. I understand that there are people who have their doubts. While I honestly think it is indeed an ultimatum of sorts, I don't view this as forcing. As long as they don't strap you to a chair and jab you, it's not forcing. I do sympathize with people though, but I still say, "welp, time to find a new job." Maybe someone should bring up the insurance premium thing at work
Honestly at the end of the day company's have the right to make it mandatory to have the vaccine just like school does for all kids to be enrolled....with that being said then just like kids can't go to public school without being vaccinated then you either find a school they can attend or homeschool so when it comes to jobs if you don't want the shot your choice but you need to find a job that doesn't mandate it or work from home. I wish people would stop complaining about all this .... and im sorry I'm tired of people claiming they can't get it because of religious beliefs like if thats what your claiming as your reason thats your personal choice just like its the company's to not allow religious beliefs as a reason to not get it.
Lose employment, your financial security or get a vaccine is the government forcing people to be vaccinated. If you’re for authoritarian style governing just say that. Don’t try to act like it’s not something, that it clearly is.
@ajaecymone184, that is not force. That’s a choice you are making by not getting vaccinated. Just like you can’t travel internationally to many countries if you don’t get vaccinated (and not just for covid). Choices have very real world consequences
@ajaecymone184, I think people are just for keeping people safe at work. If a company requires people to work onsite then policies need to be put in place to help keep employees safe. I don’t think it’s right that companies are requiring people to return to the office with no proper protocols put in place especially when a lot of jobs can be done from home.
@dontspankme, damn I didn’t even see you here at first lol
@dontspankme, everyone is religious now that they are allowing religious exemption.
I disagree. I think it is great that places are cracking down on people being vaccinated. You need certain vaccines to work and to travel, hell, to even go to school. This is no different. If the job no longer works with her religious beliefs and such, she might need to find another job.
I think it’s great companies are doing this! 🤷🏼♀️ Do you think it’s fair to raise employees health insurance premium by $200/month if they don’t get it? (Delta Airlines). That’s a great alternative to making it mandatory!! Someone has to pay for the risk unvaccinated people cause.
If raising the premium by $200/month means people especially those who have strong religious values don’t have to go against their faith or morals to please society so be it. 🤷🏽♀️ I believe in what’s morally acceptable and telling someone with strong religious values to get vaccinated for something that 100% goes against their beliefs is wrong.
@ajaecymone184 alot of trucking industries. My husband and brother both worked for JB Hunt and Currently a contractor for fed ex. Neither required it. My future bil is a door manufacturer for reeb and they aren't requiring it.y other bil works in sales I don't remember what company they didn't require it. Both gas stations my sister worked for did not require it.
@ajaecymone184, Those mitigation policies you have in place at work can’t last forever. Y’all can’t be holed up in your offices on zoom for the next 3 years, so looking forward the employer feels vaccines are necessary to return to as normal as possible. Like others have said, she is free to find another job. No one forces anyone to stay employed at a certain place. 🤷🏼♀️

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
Religion Conspiracy/Theory
**This is not to bash peoples religion and beliefs but to talk about our own theories and ideas** I would like to discuss a certain topic that came to mind after talking to my SO. I know some of you ladies like a good conspiracy talk so i would like to have a good discussion and hear thoughts of others. So back story my SO friends got very offended when he mentioned not believing in god or religion and it got me thinking. Is religion a failing form of goverment cont...

My husband and I aren’t exactly strangers when it comes to relationship challenges 💞. We have been together for 14 years and married for eight, so we’ve definitely gone through some growing pains as we navigated a long-distance relationship in college and our first year living together as a married 👫 couple.
But nothing has challenged our relationship quite like our first year as 👪 parents .
Before you have your first child, you have these grand ideas of what it will be like. There’s more slee...
Locking your doors
We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
