Interview today! *Update*
My husband flew to Salt Lake City for a job interview. He has to get this job. Prayers and positive energy appreciated! I'm so nervous!
Thank you, selson! You have been so helpful! We should know by Thursday if you are getting a new neighbor!
Lol what's funny is people move from cali or nyc and can't get over how cheap is it here. Its all a matter of perspective.
My house, buying with mortgage, is $1150 a month with taxes, insurance, etc. Its 15 years old 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 car garage, fenced yard, all around not a bad place. We could stay and raise a family here I just hate the floor plan for more than 2 kids. We will probably move in 5 years or so. We live about 10-15 minutes from downtown. Typically the further you get out the less you pay.
What areas are you looking in? Maverik I believe is in north salt lake and the are nice new homes that way. For purchase starting around $170,000. The down fall is they are near the oil refineries and there has been some issues with those homes in the past. You could also look for something on the west side of town. Its not on the benches, the mountain, so it's cheaper. But you have to be carefull as there are some scary places on the west side. Keep in mind Utah "ghetto" is nothing like other places.
Thank you for asking! We are still waiting. We need to see what kind of salary they can offer him. Housing is crazy expensive up there! We only pay $800/month on our 8 year old 3br/2ba house. The same kind of house up there is at least $1,200! How do you afford it? Am I looking in the wrong place or is that pretty reasonable for the area? Any help is always appreciated!
Thank you! That makes me feel better. We are waiting to hear the offer. I hate the waiting!
I am very familiar with them. One of my clients works for them in the marketing department. She really likes it saying they have great benefits and what not. In fact she left then they convinced her to find back lol.
Its a huge company out this way they even have the maverik center out here where they frequently have events, concerts, etc.
With Maverick, the convenience store chain. It's a position in their corporate office. If you have any insight I'd love to hear it. It's a big decision for us.
So far so good. It depends on what salary they can offer him. Austin to SLC is a big move!
Thank you all! The frustrating part is that he forgot his phone charger so I won't know how it goes until tomorrow night!
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...

“You look too young to be a mom!”
Or how about …
“You have a BABY? No! You look like a baby yourself!”👶
Oh wait, here’s a good one …
“Are you the nanny, ooor … ?”
“No, yeah I’m his mom,” I’d reply. “Yes, I am young,” I’d agree.
Considering I got pregnant straight out of college, I was certainly on the younger end of the parenting spectrum. (No one was more surprised than me, I assure you.) And yet, I wasn’t exactly a teen mom. I wasn’t juggling school courses and motherhood, like so many s...
So My coworker does not get vaccinated for anything due to religious practices and she’s worried about our job making it mandatory since they discussed it earlier this week. It’s crazy how when vaccines even started or came about we were told it would be voluntary but now it’s mandatory and people need a verification card to go certain places. We even have certain states doing lottery drawings just to make people get it. people shouldn’t fear losing their jobs or having to go against their relig...
Does anyone like their in laws?
With all the posts about terrible in laws I was just wondering if anyone actually likes their in laws?!?! I love me in laws. I'm blessed to have such a wonderful immediate and extended family. My mil loves spending time with my boys. She comes over at least once a week and will sleep over. She gets up with the boys in the morning and let's my husband and I sleep in. My fil is a great man also. He's always coming over to visit and do some odd jobs around the house...
Why can't other mom's just be there for other mom's and work together and help each other not bash other mom's because when other mom's bash other mom's it makes us feel like we aren't doing a good job at least that's how I feel when I get bashed.
Still waiting!
