So , my son has had trouble pooping since he was born. He’s now a month old and is just starting to poop on his own (on occasion ) and the last two days he has been but the poops been hard , and today I noticed some blood in it .. I’m almost 100% sure it’s because of how hard it is , so idk if I wanna take the chance to call the pediatrician, what do you moms think? Anyone ever have this issue ? Picture in the comments

@briannalynn547, How weird! In the end you know what’s best for your baby! Don’t let these moms discourage you in any way! I hope baby boy is okay and you get this unfortunate situation figured out! 💛
@miaheka, very! It was saying that the rice is like an actual food kinda so it’s gonna make the poop a little harder . A lot of people’s doctors told them to mix a little prune juice but I’m not gonna do that unless doctor says because not everyone’s baby is the same as mine lol but I’m confident I can get it to soften up!
@briannalynn547, oh good, that must be reassuring for you. I can’t imagine how scary it was seeing that while changing his diaper. Poor baby boy! :/ Hopefully it’s not serious and his stool starts to soften so you don’t have to take him in. 😕
@miaheka, I will , and I was just doing some research as he’s sleeping and apparently this is super common on A.R. With younger babies
@briannalynn547, Listen to your doctor and do everything you can to soften his stool. If nothing works, take him in the morning as soon as you can.
@phoebesmommy, I know I put him on it to eat all the time , and I increase but not to the pace of him , he’s going through like a huge growth spurt right now . He’s grown 4 inches since he was born . Doctor said that’s such a rapid height growth . Born at 18 inches and is now 22 . He eats so much at a time . I can pump like four combined then he’ll still eat an additional 2 . And want more an hour later . And I switched his pediatrician two days ago (he switched to my boyfriends insurance ) and they agreed this is the better option lol @miaheka, @mommabaxter, @floralfairy, but I called his doctor and he told me to do what we have talked about in the past to soften his stools and if it doesn’t soften by tomorrow to take him in . And if the blood increases . He thinks it’s just cause it’s hard and he’s finally doing it on his own
I’d switch formulas. His poops should not be hard like that...little bellies can’t process the rice cereal this early. Try similac Alimentum. It’s always worked for my boys’ sensitive bellies & their reflux improves with it. I’d call his ped asap about it though.
@briannalynn547, I don’t know if you’ve heard but the more he is on the breast, the more you will produce. I’m sure you’ve exhausted a lot of options but I would never put a one month old on rice cereal. 😪 I feel this is terrible advice.. could you get a second opinion from a diff pediatrician?

@floralfairy, that’s why we put him on the rice because his pediatrician and the nutritionist recommended it be best :/ we tried other options before hand . He started on similac pro , then similac pro sensitive , then enfamil gentlease , and now this . And this is the only one he isn’t spitting up on and screaming from so far . He’ll still even spit up with the breast milk , but he won’t scream from it . But I dont produce enough breast milk that satisfies him. He always wants more
@floralfairy, that’s what I’m thinking with the formula , I never take him of early I let him pull himself off , but he has a tongue and lip tie so he’s constantly pulling on and off I just keep putting him back on until I cant see anymore coming out . But I do think the rice is causing the poop to be hard , I don’t think it’s constipation cause this is the first time he’s actually pushing his poop out on his own since he’s been home from the hospital , we always had to stimulate him. But now he’s been doing it on his own since yesterday
@phoebesmommy, both, he’s mainly been on the boob today though . We just switched him to enfamil a.r though which has rice in it .. cause he has acid reflux , @nomli, and yeah I’m probably just gonna call the doctor
It never hurts to call the pediatrician and ask. They may want you to bring the poop in to look at. I've called so many times to be told everything is fine, but we've also gotten some good advice and caught issues before it got very bad.
I would take baby in STAT bc that’s fresh blood and baby is so young

So sorry for the graphic image but this is what my poor boy has to deal with :( he hasn't pooped since Thursday and then this is what he gets he strained so hard he made himself bleed if the doctors don't help him tomorrow I'm going to to mad :( xxx

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
I am so upset! Went for my 33 week checkup and they told me I have 2 stds! I have not been with anyone other than my sons dad and he says he has been faithful to me I have been crying all morning!
