Ladies how much is resonable to pay my mom every 2 weeks for watching my 2 sons from Tues-sat from 6a.to 2p mind you she only has to watch my 22 month old during the day and take my 6 yo to school. Ive been paying her 200.00 for 2weeks every check. I get paid every 2 wks.
Why would anyone expect their family to watch their child for free? That boggles my mind.
Honestly, I think you have it really good. I'd love to find someone who only charges $100 for 40 hours a week. That's insanely cheap. Nobody would work a normal job for that little. I would not talk to her about lowering the rate. If she gets upset and decides it's no longer worth it to put in full time hours for $100 every week, you'll be screwed, paying *probably over $1,000 instead. That's not a smart decision, in my opinion.
@notcreative0416 yea I agree. Hopefully shes understanding.
I agree it is two different things but my thought process was like you said. That she is her mom and I would think she wouldn’t require as much. But without knowing the financial status of @mommyof2preciousboys1216, or her mom that’s why I said she should just talk to her mom.
@mommyof2preciousboys1216 @notcreative0416 I mean watching the kids and paying rent is two different things. But I do agree since she is your mom she should help u at least by accepting less. Maybe that is her job? And i agreed about the fiance thing he should help with your son!
@mommyof2preciousboys1216 He should pay his sons part at least and half of what u pay for the mortgage. Does he help with other stuff? And i would talk to her tell her u appreciate her but u can't afford it because u need to save so one day maybe get your own place.
@notcreative0416 yeah your right I'm going to tlk with her. Thank you hun
Well I realize this wasn’t the point of your original post but I really advise you to have this discussion with your fiancé before y’all get married. It seems he already has a problem sharing money with you I don’t know how it will work when you are married. That’s just my 2cents. But to answer your original question I think that’s just something you need to figure out what you can afford and talk to your mom about it. I think what you are paying now is pretty steep considering you live with her.
@notcreative0416 yeah he feels he doesnt have to since he's helping with the mortgage but yet can send his other baby mama money for their daughter to his country central America. That lil girl has everything. Thats what i dont understand. He complains because i work and he still gives me money. And she also wrks and he sends money but i never seem to hear him complain to her idk it just isn't right
So you are already paying your mom to live there to help with the mortgage? Does your mom work? I feel like if she isn’t working and you live there and already paying her for living there then she shouldn’t require
much more from you just for keeping your kid so you can go to work. If that makes sense. And I agree with @itsdestyn it is very odd he won’t help pay for “your son” when it will soon be both of y’alls money and both of yalls kids 🤷🏼♀️
So why do you intend on marrying somebody who basically saying “that’s not my son so I’m not paying” that ain’t right...
@preciouslove no you understood correctly. He doesn't help me pay for our sons care atleast 100 of it. And I'm going to ask her because honestly its too steep for me rn.
@mommyof2preciousboys1216 i would say it depends on how much u make if its too much see if she will do 150 a paycheck or 100? Your fiance doesnt help? I dont kno if i misunderstood.
@itsdestyn the school is only about 5 mins from out house which is nothing
Is she comfortable with the amount? 200 seems pretty reasonable.
@coffee_is_the_new_black @leroydoom @itsdestyn @notcreative0416 ladies I live with her and well my boys have pretty much everything. And well i dont make that much from my job because I'm having to pay my part for the mortgage and my fiancee his part so its really hard for me . Because he doesn't want to help me pay for my youngest to get taken care of. Because my 6yo isnt his. And also get a divorce to be able to marry this my fiancee. Thats why I was asking
I guess I should add she does feed him any meal that he is there for. So always lunch sometimes breakfast and sometimes dinner also. The only thing I provide her with is diapers.
That's too much money, I think a grandchild shouldn't be charged. If you provide snacks and such.
Well I’ll say I pay my mom 400 a month to watch my son. My husband and I both have fluctuating schedules since we work retail and my mom retired so I wouldn’t have to put my son in daycare. I don’t mind paying since she does work her life around my schedule full time. A daycare in my area for his age would be more like $1000 a month so it helps us both out!
With family, it's hard to say, I watched my nephew for my sister for $50 a week from when he woke up (about 8am) to around 6 when she got home from work during the summer. I was going to do it for less but she insisted.
Well other people need money too and 200 every 2 weeks is nothing. I had my son go to daycare for only 2 days and that was 400 a week so that’s 800 dollars every two weeks. Your mom uses gas to drop them off and buys them food.
In my opinion you shouldn't have to pay your kids grandma to watch them.

Just wanted to provide an update! Looks like this IS my rainbow! Test to the far right was from today, every day the line gets darker and darker!
Watching "one born every minute"...😌 As if this isn't my 3rd rodeo 🤠
I am going to pay my sister to watch my son while I work. She’s 16 and home schooled. It would only be maybe 2 days a week. I am trying to decide on what’s a good price to pay her. Any suggestions?
Find it hard not to be jealous of my bf who gets to spend 8 hours every day away from our kid
Why do food stamps go by gross pay ? When they take 400+ from taxes off my husbands paycheck ...
I think you have a bigger problem with your fiancé than you even realize. Him not offering to pay for his half of the day care situation is incredibly selfish and messed up. I wouldn't marry someone like that.
