Ok I hold my child when she cries, but it drives me crazy when parents hold their baby so much that they scream when they're not being held. To me, that is coddling your child. You do not have to hold the kid 24/7. The baby is almost 6 months old and can barely hold his head up and he can't even roll over. My daughter was rolling over at 2 months and was crawling at 3.

@modom16 there is nothing wrong with the baby crying for 5 minutes while she does some light cleaning. I'm not saying the baby doesn't need to be held, but she can't hold the baby 24/7.

@modom16, I know that’s why I’m not sure if to let her cry it out or not cos she’s so small. My first baby loved when I carried him but he was also ok with me setting him down while I cleaned the house.

@njgriffin, don’t let your 2 month old cry it out 😖 babies that young need physical touch from their mom, it actually makes them more secure and confident because someone is there for them.

Bouncers and swings are worse for them then being held, they are horrible for their spine and can cause their head to go flat. The baby carrier is a great idea.

I understand needing a few minutes to go to the bathroom but if your baby is crying it’s because they NEED you.

15 minutes is a great amount for tummy time keep doing that 👍

That's great. I even did this when I didn't want to stop ever 5 minutes and pick her up. There is nothing wrong with not wanting your child to cry and to be there for them and hold them, my main thing is just make sure that your child is hitting their development markers. Share some doctors that say when a baby cries out it makes their lungs stronger so it's ok to cry for awhile... some others might not agree but to a small extent I do agree. If everybody caudill's their baby and doesn't let them learn or cry things out sometimes then you could end up with a child that won't do anything by themselves.

@kaytibug2009, I’ll try that! And I take her every where with me on her swing! So if I’m at the kitchen I’ll drag her swing In there too so she can see me but she’s always pissed that I put her down lol. But I’m definitely gonna try letting her cry it out for 5 mins. It’s impossible to get anything done and I love her but I don’t wanna be that mom ALWAYS holding her baby. It’s annoying

@njgriffin what I did was let her cry for 5 minutes. Get as much as you can done in the 5 minutes and then hold her for 10 minutes and then back down for 5 minutes to do more. If possible, make sure she can see you while she's down. It will help to teach her that it is okay for her to be down.

@kaytibug2009, she stays for like 15 mins on tummy time when I’m next to her and we play. But I’m talking bout just putting her down while I cook dinner or clean the house. She has a major fit. And idk if it let her cry it out or if she’s too little for that? Idk☹️

@njgriffin when you put her down for tummy time do you lay with her and play with toys to get her attention? That's what I did with my daughter. When we did tummy time, I did it with her and would have shiny things or things that made noise with me to get her attention. Once she stopped crying and saw I was with her then she was ok. I also would set her up laying across the bobpy pillow and would put things on the ground in front of her.

My baby is 2 months old and NEVER lets me put her down. Should I start letting her cry it out ? Or is she too little ? My first baby was never like this

@kaytibug2009 very true. Babies need to explore and learn if not they may get behind

@thisisfeeney there is nothing wrong with this child at all other than the fact that his parents holds me way too much. If he had something wrong with him like his head being too big or mental or other physical problems then okay... but there is nothing wrong with this child at all. I don't know how many times I can say that... there is nothing wrong with the little boy, his parents just won't set him down and even give him tummy time or give him a chance to even learn.

My daughters head was so big she finally held her head up around 5-6 mos. she started crawling at 9mos and walked at 15 mos. doesn’t mean I held her too much though.

@lareina_kk I'm not saying to not hold and comfort a child. I'm saying that if a child is not at least hitting their development markers then something is wrong. He doesn't have any problems according to his doctor either. His parents just don't put him down at all.

@mommytoveralang actually they can if you start working with them as soon as they are born. @modom16 I'm not talking about the normal cry a baby makes because their needs are not being met. I'm talking about the fact that the child cannot be set down at all without screaming its head off. Also the fact that he could not even hold his head up by himself at 4 months old. I had to give him a lot of tummy time to help teach him to hold his head up by himself. I have been working with this little boy for over a month now and he is finally able to hold his head up and he has started to scoot across the floor finally.

Babies dont have the muscle development to be crawling at 3months. But some babies need extra care. And I'm sure that babies pediatrician has the baby in some therapy to help the child to improve.

I know my pediatrician has always been hard on me to make sure my daughter was on a good diet she had good weight she was meeting the age milestones.

Sounds like you may have an easy baby then 🤷‍♀️ one of babies needs is actually to be held. Totally normal for them to cry when their needs aren’t meant.

Never heard of a baby crawling at 3 months 😂

@misscoco yeah but your child is 2 weeks old so that's ok. But this child should be learning how to crawl not learning how to hold its head up. He can barely roll over. It's sad. They don't work with him and teach him.

I'm trying so hard not to become that parent with my second baby. She cries soon as I put her down if she's not really sleep or content. I was good with my first daughter but this baby has that separation issue

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

OT. rant! forward facing early

OT. rant! forward facing early ok, so in my birth month forum (October 2012) someone posted a picture of their lo riding in the car in a forward facing seat! what???? it baffles me when parents do this. I'm not trying to offend anyone.. but why do ppl do this?? the oldest baby in our birth month is 9 months, she was 3 months premature. but even at 9 months I wouldn't have my child forward facing.
