Planning on another baby...?
So for my first time moms when do you plan on having your second child?
My first is 6 going to be 7 in September. My second is 3 going to be 4 in May. So that's a 3 year gap pretty much and my two boys get along very well. It was a lot easier having them far apart in age because I didn't have to deal with potty training, not being able to talk or communicate with my eldest if I needed something and he understood more about mommy having a baby. My third and last baby will have a 4 year gap between my second eldest and almost 7 year gap between my eldest. Personally I like it better this way. I didn't plan on having my third with such a huge gap between my second but I had a miscarriage and then every time we tried for a year to year in a half it never happened. Finally it did but 4 years later lol. I think it's because I never gave my body time to heal. So when it finally did I was able to get pregnant again.
We are planning to get married in November 2015 if the money is available. But I'm not allowed to get pregnant until I get my associates degree. Which is totally understandable because I could get a good job. Ideally I want them semi close in age but I'd rather be financially stable first. We aren't doing terrible right now, but we aren't ahead either. So we will wait for baby number two.
My kids are 2years and 2 weeks apart. I found it tough to be pregnant and chase my son around. I also found my second pregnancy to be harder because my body was still so out of shape from my first pregnancy. Although labour was much easier the second time around. Having them close in age has its pros and cons. If we decide to have a third I already told my husband it's not an option until I'm in better shape and am more able to keep up with other kids.
My first was born August 14,2012...I am expecting my second anyway now..I got pregnant with my second when my son was 11 months old so they will be 20 months apart. I am hoping that my family feels complete after my second comes but if we want to go for our 3rd then the longest I would wait would be 2 years
So nice to read of other mummies already planning more babies, but I must be the only one who had such a traumatic experience in labour that I don't think I can ever do it again ? I would love a little brother or sister for my little man but I'll have to see if I build up the courage over the next couple of years! Xx
I have a 9 year old daughter, a 3 year old son and a 4 day old baby. I personally love the age gap I have between my kids as I feel I got to enjoy them all as babies fully and I also have two extra helpers this time. I could never have imagined having another baby with my 3 year old (well he will be 4 in July) until now as he was a bit of wild child! Lol but he has calmed down so much lately that hopefully we should all get on great! Lol now in saying that I did always think that my daughter and son would bypass the sibling rivalry on account of the 6 year age gap but boy way I wrong! Lol
We're waiting probably 4 years. I hated being pregnant. I miss my belly, but it just sucked! And we want to be more financially stable before #2. And I want to enjoy as much alone time with her as I can ? my hubby's already talking about making her a little brother..he just gets the stink eye. Nu uh my friend
Love hearing all your stories!!
We are exited to try again when the time is right, which is whenever it happens, happens!
I absolutely did not realize how much I loved being pregnant until we had our Melinda. It's really crazy once you have your baby and you look back to the last 9 months and just see things so clearly, where as when your pregnant your hormones and mind is just going hay wire and hazey!
Really super excited!!
My son is 15 days old now and my daughter's first birthday is on Monday. :) it's not as hard as I thought it would be. It's a little challenging sometimes because my daughter isn't walking yet and is still dependent on me, but it's not too bad. Also, we started potty training when she was 9 months old and she knew immediately what to do so she's almost out of diapers already. ;)
We got married july of 2012. My son was born March 2013, when he was 4 months I got pregnant again with this one. Am due the 28th of April. I would like to breastfeed for a year then get pregnant again. I don't plan on getting on birth control so if it happens sooner it's fine. We recently bought 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom house and we plan on using it to its full potential. This might scare some of you but I plan on having at least 10 kids, 1 each year be done with Giving birth at 35. This is baby #2 and I cant wait for the future and the lords blessings.
Surprised mommy~ that's awesome! : )
Glad I'm not the only one thinking of trying soon!! That time will come super fast I'm sure! Beings that the 9 months of pregnancy came in a blink of an eye.
Erinkahl...
So I guess I shouldn't go back on my birth control? I guess it wouldn't really matter but I must say my doctor was extremely mind blown with how quickly I got pregnant.
I was on the same B.C for 9 years straight and right when I got off of it I got pregnant within just a few weeks. Doc said my fiancé must have "super sperm" Lol!
SarahT88 ~ that's totally fine I love the responses!
Got pregnant with my first on our first date October 2009. Had dd june 15, 2010. Got married March 31, 2012. And found out about May I was pregnant with dear son. Had him January 21, 2013. Found out I was pregnant with dd about June. And she's due April 22, 2014. So there's about a 3yr difference between my first born and my second and there's going to be a 1yr 3month difference between my ds and dd. Its a lil hard, I'm not guna lie, to have a 3yr old (almost 4) and a 15month old. But my 3 yr old is excited to be having a baby sister and can't wait til she gets here. After this I'm done. Threes enough for me. I technically have 5..lol have 2 step sons (11 and 6). All the kids get along great. I think the closer in age they are the more likely chance they have to get along, but that's my opinion. Sorry so long.
There is about two and a half years between my eldest and this baby. We basically got no sleep the first year, so we weren't exactly ready for number two. At all. In fact, he was almost an only child. ?
Seems super early to start planning for your next child, in my opinion.
Of course, I'm probably done, so just my two cents.
Were planning in getting married October 3rd. Ironically both my parents and his parents have the same anniversary!! So we thought it would be sweet to keep it sort of as a mini tradition!
Just going to the court house and then having a big reception!
I'm so sorry to those who went through some misery inbetween try's! My heart goes out to you girls..on the up side I love hearing the opinions and how your little family is all growing!!
I had my first 3 all about 2yrs apart 9 6(about to be 7) and 4(about to be 5) and then this little guy almost 5 yrs behind them the big age gap is due to having my tubes tied now that i have him i am considering another so he'll have someone close to him as all his sisters are already in school(must be nuts) so we are looking into a tubal reversal wish us luck
Had my 1st feb 28, 2012
Got married July 6, 2013
Due with number 2 today.
Got pregnant about a week after my wedding lol and kids will be about 2yrs and 2 months apart. I love that my son kind of understands what's going on, but that they will be close enough in age to be good friends. :)
I have a 14 yr gap between my youngest and my 2 yr old. I was a single mom for a long time before I found the right guy! I know it makes me sad that I don't have as much time with my 2yr old as I did with my now 16 yr old as a baby. But I have to work now and have my DH and 16 yr old to split my attention with. Now Ds should be here any day so I'm not sure how the 26 month gap between my 2 yr old and Ds will be. I'm sure it will be great!! The only thing I can say is now that I'm 35 I'm glad I'm having kids now because you will get a baby itch as you get older!
I'm not a FTM but the age gaps between my kids are 2.5 years, 18 months, and six years. I have to say, I think it was easier when they were all little as opposed to the six year gap. The house was completely childproof, and I was in the groove. Plus, they had built in playmates (siblings), and I didn't have to get out much. This time I have three helpers and it gets a little overwhelming. I have to be extra patient when I'm swarmed by loud, smelly, big kids. Plus, I've always got to run here, there, and everywhere else, which made healing kind of tough. All in all, I really loved my close in age experience!
Leah how did that end up working out for you? Was it too much or was it normal for you?
There is about a 2 1/2 yr gap between this baby and my youngest. And 3 yrs between him and the oldest.
Its nice to give your body time to heal. While trying again at 9 months is considered safe...it takes about a year for your body to truely recover.
Its also been helpful that the older one is more independent by the time next one came. They love helping!
any boy moms
Plan on trying for a girl?
Names!!!
What are you planning on naming the baby(ies)?
How many of you planned your pregnancy? And who's pregnancy was unexpected?
My 2 will be 17 months apart! We worked hard for our son after multiple miscarriages and rounds of fertility drugs. This baby girl (due Sat) was a big surprise roughly 8 months in to motherhood. I'm thrilled they will grow up together so close in age. :)
