Ladies tell me if I’m wrong. I was a stay at home mom for a year and a half. When I got my license I went into the home health aide field. I’ve been here for six months and love it. My supervisor caters to my schedule on what I can and can’t do because my husband works seconds and I work first so someone has to be home with my toddler. So I feel bad when I can’t pick up shifts to help because of my availability. When I can pick up I do. There’s supposed to be a snow storm tomorrow so there workshop they go to may be closed. My husband is upset because we both had the day off tomorrow. I get what he saying but I’ll be gone from 630-2. I put everything aside for him when he was the only one working . All I ask is for him to do the same and it’s like it’s impossible for him to understand. Plus he’s been getting less hours so I like to have overtime. Am I compromising my family?

No. Yet understand the role the male plays as provider and the male ego of a male. You have to communicate (I am still learning myself) to where it is not making them feel less than a man. (Mine use to bring home more than me now he don't) The woman is to help. So that is what you are doing. Inform him you only want the best for the family. And that y'all are a team! Remind him (with love) what you did for him. Some men forget that part. And him not working so much is only temp. And it gives him a chance to gain a father son bond. And you need him to help as a male with getting potty training down pack. Since you are not a male you can't show your son certain things.

@lana30319, it’s frustrating . I feel like I’m being controlled. This is how it’s going to be when I start school as well. I’ve done so much for him and remind him all the time but it’s like it goes through one ear and out the other.

Then maybe you have to do your thing and let him see. And hopefully he will follow

@lana30319, yeah maybe. It’s not like I’m out with friends I’m getting money. Who knew that would be a crime.

Maybe he's just wanting time with you, and as a family. I know when my husband is off I get upset when he takes on more work (unless we truly need it) because we don't have much quality time together. Money is good for the bills but you need time together, too. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you said tho. Is he just being a butt about it? lol it's still early for me 😋

@morganmommy79, if I worked the shift though I get off at 1 which I have the whole day to myself after. That’s the time we usually are ready to go out anyways when we’re both off.

@morganmommy79, I would understand more if I worked a 2nd shift then I’d be gone all day

@nmc95, you're a hard worker. Nothing wrong with that. I would take it as a complement that he wants you all to himself that whole day 😉
