I have a question! I can not for the life of me get my 18 month old to eat at the kitchen table...he will fight me till he is blue in the face but he is hungry so I let him sit in his chair to eat because I can’t just let him starve! Anyone go through this with their toddlers? Any tips?
@kambam, thank you (: and I usually dont! But makes sense like you go to work for money you don’t do it for free so makes perfect sense!
@ecahanes, ha ha it’s okay! Makes it a better idea! Lol
@worlds.okayest.mom, if you say so lol cuz not giving him food period cuz he refuses to eat at the table isn’t torture so after a day or more of not eating your just let the kid go with out food? That is torture
If you force him to not eat, that's torture. Forcing him to sit at the table to get food is not. It's parenting.
Rewards are the best 😁 if you think about it, adults would rather have a reward for a task than be forced also. Just don't go overboard on the rewards lol. Good luck.
@_sheriee, my kid can not stand hamburger and I love hamburger so 90% of the meals I make is hamburger he literally throws up if he eats anything with it in there lol so I make him chicken and spinach because it’s his FAVORITE! But I think that having some on my plate and giving it to him is a great idea! Thank you so much! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that! 😂
@kambam, yeah we eat with him! We eat as a family (: but never tried the reward system yet! So I might need too! Like possibly a dessert afterwards If he is good! Reward system worked great for potty training so far! So maybe it will work for this too (: thanks!
Do you eat with him or you're trying to get him to eat alone? Try rewarding him instead if you don't want to police him. Eat with him and engage him. Read to him. Or offer a reward you know he would like if he eats at the table. Maybe having his favorite snack in his chair after idk
Oh my kids don't get options lol. Maybe put some of what he likes on your plate so you can give it to him when he wants what you have.
@_sheriee, we sit with him...I think he also gets mad because he is a picky eater and I will make something different for him and we will eat something different and he gets mad and wants to eat what we have and we will give him a bite and he gets mad because he doesn’t like it 😂😂
@worlds.okayest.mom, I believe it’s torturing your kid when you go a whole day with out eating this is the only problem we have with him, he has his boundaries, he is extremely well behaved and trust me he is beyond stubborn because he gets it from me lol
My daughter was like that. I distracted her with videos and sat with her so there was no way for her to throw the food. I took the videos away mid meal and after a week or so she was fine. Now she knows, she's going to sit and eat regardless. I don't argue with her, I'm the mother. No matter how long it takes, just stay consistent and don't give in.
No. He's not. I've raised several kids and nannyed several more. I can promise you he's not as stubborn and many of the kids I've dealt with.
@worlds.okayest.mom, I rather my kid not end up losing weight again...I was asking tips on how other moms deal with this situation not torture him and not let him eat period he literally will not eat at the table I tried your method and he lost weight and that’s when I would draw the line and he would sleep at night cuz he wasn’t eating...
And if it's a certain chair that he gets his way with, take the chair away.
@worlds.okayest.mom, think my kid is more stubborn then the kids that you dealt with lol he literally did starve himself lol
Yup. You teach him if he's hungry he eats at the table. If you give in, he learns he'll get his way if he pushes hard enough. Or you let him eat wherever and he never learns. Your call.
@worlds.okayest.mom, so I’m suppose to just not let him eat? Because we done that and my grandma even came over to help for two weeks...didn’t work...he didn’t eat...and he lost weight...so I let him eat...me and his dad eats at the table he grew up eating at the table, can’t take him out in public to eat because he refuses...this is an extremely stubborn kid!!!
Again, a child will not starve themself. If they learn they only eat at the table they will willingly sit themself down when they are hungry.
Then he won't eat at all. I nannyed a girl like that. The rule was she sat at the table and ate. If she got up, she was done. Took her a week and her mom was shocked. I make the kids eat every single meal at the table.if you're consistent, he'll do it. You don't fight for an hour.
@worlds.okayest.mom, he literally throws the food on the floor we literally fought with him for an hour and a half one day...he literally won’t eat at the table...
A kid won't starve themself to death promise. I don't let my daughter eat away from the table. He fights because he knows he's going to win.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
It happened....?
2.5 years and today was the day he heard me fart. I thought I could crop dust him, but it came out full force. He looked at me and busted out laughing. ?
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
i finally let him do it
I finally let DF throw away my foundations. He says I look better without it. He said he hates seeing me cover my face with make up when I can just wear mascara and eyeliner. He says it makes me look fake and he said he's not saying it to be mean, hes saying it because he cares. Im glad he's real with me. He says I have natural beauty. He says he doesn't like it when I dye my hair or wear make up because he loves my natural beauty. I know some girls feel as though that t...

Enjoying some fun in the sun ☀️
Don’t come for me about him not wearing a life jacket. I don’t want to hear it. He was fine 🙄
@worlds.okayest.mom, sorry I don’t agree with that method...I explained why because tried it he lost weight not worth making my kid sick
