So with my daughter who is a month old I don't put a coat or snowsuit on her to go in the carseat I put a sweater on her a hat and a blanket I also have a carseat cover,and put the heat on in the car. My mom and sister freaked out on me saying she's going to get sick. I'm not walking around outside with her it's in the carseat because if I put anything heavy on her the carseat is essentially useless correct? I warm my car up before I go out with her then go right into a store I do t hang outside..

That’s how we dress our son. Sometimes just a long sleeve and two blankets and his hat. He runs hot so he’s always sweaty when we get him out. But we aren’t outside long. To the car, or from the car inside.
We don't put anything on our son either. We have a car seat cover and warm the car up and he wears a hat. He only goes from the door to the car and that car seat cover is crazy warm. He's usually sweating when we take him out 😂 don't let them stress you
It is safer that way @proud_mama. This way you are sure the car seat straps are properly tightened and buckled.
