I made a huge mistake!!!_ baby won't calm down unless he's held... and now unless he's in my bed he wakes up constantly. At first I thought it was just his schedule.. then I reAlized he sleeps through the night if I'm holding him. Maybe wanting to be held is normal... how do I break him or these habits without hurting him (emotionally) or scarring him for life?

Swaddling is just like being held

I am having the same problem but there isn't a right or wrong way I feel we are all new moms learning, doesn't mean your kid is going to grow up a certain way or grow up wrong. We just got to do the best ♡

Also if your scared about the baby sleeping on your chest put two pillows under both arms that way the baby won't slide down.

@exoticyuri, no way at this age he's too young to cry it out . Just ignore everyone and do what your motherly instinct tells you. Newborns cry a lot sometimes because like I said they are getting used to the world and they want you close because that's all they know is momma. If you changed and fed your baby and still crying it could be colic! My first had very bad colic and cried forever!!! I thought it was never ending but I tried gripe water that that helped tons for my second too. The first month or so you barely get sleep. Mommin ain't easy but it's so worth it to see those beautiful little babies happy.

Starting at 2 months I let my daughter cry it out. As long as you know you did everything for him, he has a clean diaper on, is fed, and nothing is wrong with him. My girl would whine for a minute and then go to sleep. And @exoticyuri, it is NOT your fault! You are doing the right thing for the first few months you are supposed to be getting him when he cries.

@exoticyuri, Thats what you are supposed to do! It is your child, don't let anyone tell you that the way you take care of him is wrong! There is plenty of time later to get him out of that IF you so choose.

At this age, they need you, a ton.

Like @ecahanes said, wait a bit to do the cry it out thing. My Olivia can sleep in her cradle next to our bed, (she was in the NICU for 3 weeks, so she can handle being by herself) but I also need her snuggles at night sometimes too. (We block her with a wedge pillow for her head and a boppy around her body, so we don't squish her)

He just left the comfort of your womb. He's been with you 24/7 for 9ish months. He got evicted and now has to adjust to life outside the comfort of you. He has to work for his meals now, so he's going to let you know when he needs you the only way he knows now, with noise.

@ecahanes, omg thank you@mimprince, @nicolem10021, @beverlystory13, @kigercass, everyone is making me feel like it's my fault and could have been avoided if I didn't run to him every time he cried or breastfeed him in bed... I felt like I was screwing up. My boyfriend Sid to let him cry and we got into a argument about it cause I feel he's too young.

He's two weeks old it's completely normal you are not suppose to do the "cry it out" until 4 months

Sounds like it's a newborn still. That's perfectly normal. Babies rely on their mothers a whole lot to feel comfort in the first months

You won't scare him for life over this. It'll be hard but sometimes it's best just to let them cry it out (depending how old the baby is) and even he'll fall asleep

My baby girl slept on my chest for the first month. Up till the 2nd month she slept in a bassinet but she woke up like every 3 hours. After she got her 2 months shots she has been sleeping in her crib in our room and She sleeps through the night. She is now three months old and she doesn't like it when we try to hold her and put her to sleep. She wants to be in her crib to go to sleep. I miss our little cuddles 😞

They just need time getting used to the outside world and want to be close to you! Just like your body needs adjusting so do they. My baby slept the first 2 months on my chest it's the only way we all got sleep. They are only little once. Before you know it you will be missing the snuggles.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

I wish I had a Man by My side who understood the pain of first trimester. So long story short..BD asks Me if I need to pee before He showers I say No. Then after he's in the bathroom for quite sometime he comes out and says he's about to shower..I said I thought You already showered. He said No. Anyway mid shower I have to pee so I text him telling him I have to pee because I dare not knock on the door unless I want to get yelled at and called names. He comes out yelling at Me anyways telling Me he asked Me beforehand I said I didn't have to pee then. Then he goes on to tell Me to hurry up and turn My hotspot on so he can use it. I get up slowly because I'm in a bit of aching this evening then he yells at Me to hurry up..I make My way slowly down the hallway still getting yelled at. I don't know why he thinks I should do anything for him! This is so hard Y'all! I fight back tears every day *darn hormones*
