I'm so confused. my sons pediatrician said not to feed him every time he acts hungry, go by a schedule (every 3 hours)

but I've been reading online to feed him when he acts hungry because you can't overfeed a newborn. he will stop eating when he's full.

I just fed him a 3 oz bottle at 9 & now he's eating again. idk what to do. I feel like he's eating too much...

@kparis, I'm not breastfeeding :( if I was breastfeeding then I would just let him eat whenever he wants, but I don't know if I should watch it with formula or not.

I've always gone by pyper ( my daughter ) if she is hungry or even just wants to comfort nurse I let her. whatever you decide to do is right mama. Your baby, you know better than anyone 💕

@b3autifulm3ss, I tried doing all of those things and he still continued to cry like he was hungry so I just gave in. I don't want him to become overweight if I feed him too much but idk what else to do and it's really starting to aggravate me....

@tylersmommy1101, what i suggest is, feed baby, then next time baby acts hungry do everything else like change rock hold try to comfort baby first then if baby still acts hungry then feed baby... they dont want it to become a habit and a comfort thing, everytime they cry they can eat because later on it can definitely cause weight problems... my husbands brother fed their daughter all the time and shes a year old and seriously overweight, all she does is eat
