So Charlies started crying when im feeding him solids was getting stressed thinking why wont he eat.. but when i offer him finger foods he will happily eat.. its like he just wants to do it himself! Anyone else had this?
I literally just give him his food on his tray and give him a fork or spoon as well and he just does what he wants iv always done it iv baby led weaned him to he has two teeth eats gammon meatballs all sorts xc @laurabump27
@chesscalouise oh really... so you just let him do it?
Ive read that it is just development and wanting to do it.. im too intense lol xx
My kids hardly ever let me feed them especially ryder he would just Rather feed him self I don't blame him I'd hate someone to feed me haha @laurabump27 xx
@chesscalouise really!? My mum said that all babies are fussy somtimes.. i just worry!
Xxx
Every baby goes like this at some point xx @laurabump27
@sara-lou86 i was giving him strips of pita bread n he loves humous... but gags alot is that normal?
And he can have any meats?
Thankyou hun.. I'll give it a go giving him more control..got the hv today but shes useless with advice!!
Love your hair by the way! Xxx
Ok so he can eat pretty much anything apart from nuts, honey and obviously added salt and sugar. If you're doing roast or spag bowl literally just put it whole in front of him & let him use his hands to feed himself. Roast dinner, pasta dinners, fish fingers, chips. As long as the food if big enough for him to pick up. Being careful with things like grapes, cut them in half length ways. I barely pureed with Max because he learnt how to chew much quicker doing BLW.
@bonnieb no charlie held his own bottles for a week then realised he doesnt have to so just leaves it to me!
Ive give him a spoon but he switches it round and eats of the wrong end lol.
Just have to keep offering i suppose.... ther constantly changing so i might have to get used to that xxx
@sara-lou86 at 9 months what blw foods can i offer i get really stuck for ideas?
I know i can offer him what i eat but i eat bad and at silly times so that's no good but I'll happily cook just for him xx
Both mine go off foods one week then eat those foods again another week. Just keep offering. But if he's preferring whole foods then maybe baby led weaning is the way to go. I did a bit of both. More so with Max. He did & still does eat much more than Morgan.
@bonnieb yeah i think its alot about control maybe. I dunno i know if i leave it infront of him he will eat kt but me feeding him sometimes he just kicks off xxx
@sara-lou86 yeah.. so its normal?
He seems to fluctuate so much but is happily shoving toast in atm.
I can sometimes bribe him with peppa pig on t.v. but today he really kicked off xx
@erincharlie1226 yeah.. he point blank refused porridge but had some toast himself
They do grow up so fast.. i think i need to let him have some control.. just makes me anxious :( xxx
They often go through fussy phases but if he's eating solids fine then I'd just give him whole foods. Could always try giving him a spoon to hold himself so he can have a go at feeding himself, whilst your sneaking in mouthfuls lol
They arnt babies for long are they :( goes so quickly xxx
@laurabump27 it's okay if he's eating when he feeds himself it seems like he's just growing he's independence ! It's a good thing ...let him feed himself the puree off of a plate and spoon see if he eats it like that xxx
@erincharlie1226 yea if i put it infont of him he will feed himself but soon as i offer purees with me feeding he kicks off! Wonder if its just me... i worry thinking hes not appetite but then happily feeds himself xxx
@laurabump27 does he have a high chair you can put the food onto? Maybe use a plate with a spoon so he can do it himself xxx
@erincharlie1226 i do worry.. but its like as soon as he sees a bowl he cries so then i made him toast n he ate it xxx
He may be developing his taste buds they tend to get "fussy" or like you said wants to feed himself xxx
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Make your own breakfast!
At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
This chick that works with my boyfriend really confessed her love to my man and then went into tears when he rejected her. (Mind you, he works in a kitchen and tells everyone about me and the fact that I’m pregnant and how excited he is to have a son.) Apparently she’s started to cause him problems at work and getting jealous when he talks other females, me included😂 Like this hoe really tried it😩😂🤪
What gets on my nerves is when my 3 year old wakes me up saying he wants to eat I get up I make him his food I put it in front of him then he wants to say he doesnt want it and try to push it away and not eat and it's so irritating because I have to force him and make treats like if you dont eat you wont get anything you want and I have to say okay if you dont eat I'll spank your hand ...I cannot stand when he does this to me!help what should I do!I have to constantly tell him to eat and he does...
Aw thanks. Trying something different! I started with softer meats like chicken. But also gave mince, diced lamb and beef. Max mostly chewed and spat out once he'd gotten the flavour from it lol. They will gag while they learn how to chew and swallow. But your always sat with them and they can usually work it out themselves if not a little tap on the back. Max was quite a didn't baby & would often sick up his pureed food. Chopped food barely at all!
