As someone who has had a natural birth and a medically induced birth, I can't possibly understand what the appeal is in being induced. Especially if you haven't even hit 40 weeks yet. I was induced on the exact day I turned 43 weeks with my 2nd child. The only reason I was induced was because I was 43 weeks and not dilated, not effaced, and my cervix was hard as a rock. I'm here to tell you induction is not a walk in the park. Inductions tend to be longer. My first labor was 6 hours, induction was 16 hours. Inductions end in c-sections a lot because the pitocin makes your contractions so strong, it can put the baby into fetal distress. So, I can't understand asking for an induction if you don't MEDICALLY NEED one.

I went past due with both and having had to be induced twice, I so agree! I wish I would've gone into labor on my own!!
