As someone who has had a natural birth and a medically induced birth, I can't possibly understand what the appeal is in being induced. Especially if you haven't even hit 40 weeks yet. I was induced on the exact day I turned 43 weeks with my 2nd child. The only reason I was induced was because I was 43 weeks and not dilated, not effaced, and my cervix was hard as a rock. I'm here to tell you induction is not a walk in the park. Inductions tend to be longer. My first labor was 6 hours, induction was 16 hours. Inductions end in c-sections a lot because the pitocin makes your contractions so strong, it can put the baby into fetal distress. So, I can't understand asking for an induction if you don't MEDICALLY NEED one.

Inductions hurt like a B worse than actual labor I don't think they know that

I had an induction with my first son.. and he was easy and I didn't feel no pain!!** I guess everybody is different.

@mimiamor123, My induction was easy when it came time to push. She was out in 10 min. My labor was very long and very painful because I was 43 weeks and had no progress at all. I wasn't dilated not even half a cm and my cervix was not open or soft at all. I also chose to have no pain meds just because that's just my preference. Statistically speaking inductions do take longer and tend to end in c-sections more often. I just don't think it's something to want for your pregnancy. I think the risks associated with induction aren't worth it for someone to choose to have it.

I had an induction with my son and was in active labor for 10 hrs. I don't think it was too bad but my baby wasn't liking the pitocin. His heart rate went down immediately!!! They were able to control it but I really want to do it naturally this time around!!

I'm trying everything to make sure I don't have to get induced. that's something I absolutely do not want.

@alfysmommy, Pitocin tends to do that. I had three bags and they were able to keep her stable, but I consider myself lucky for that because if I had a different doctor I may have ended up with a c-section

My doctor wanted me to get induced because my blood pressure shot up and I lost 5lbs in a week after Zs god mother/ my aunt died. Good things is my water broke naturally the night before my induction day but they decided to give me Pitocin anyway (don't know why I agreed to that smh) That was the hardest labor and delivery ever! Z came super fast my Epi didn't work in time and those contraction are intense! Every contraction literally takes a piece of your soul and I felt everything! Never again 😖😖😖

@momof031989, Don't be! As long as you have a beautiful, healthy baby, that's all that matters.

@ceeasquared, I keep telling my self that is all worth it. just to clear the air my induction is for medical reason. After 2 natural births and now an induction I'm definitely nervous an scared. I'm probably gonna ask for epidural this time for sure.

@momof031989, I'm like so anti epi but I would advise it in an induction. Lol. I'm one of those all natural people, but I'm also realistic. The only reason I didn't have an epi is because I was more scared of the epi than the contractions. By the time I finally wanted it, it was too late.

@ceeasquared, The nurse kicked Adham out (yeah I know 🙄) and when they let him back in he asked me if they gave me drugs while he was out there. Hell no these contractions have me about to lose my mind. I was so weak after each one😩😩😩😩

@jessica0830, My mother was like pleaaase if you don't get the epidural for you. do it for me. I said to the nurse "GET HER THE FUCK OUT." 😂 My mom said I must have been delirious talking to her like that.

@ceeasquared, I'm the same way no drugs or anything even through my pregnancies I didn't take anything. just i have heard that the contractions are ten times worse even from nurses an dr. except they did say I have an advantage Cuz I have had 2 kids already. but yes I'm strongly thinking the epi is gonna be my friend

Noo man never again!! My midwife pushed the pitocin on me and at the time I didn't know I could refuse it :( I went all natural with my daughter but if I had just refused the pitocin I know it wouldn't have hurt as much.
Jess 🕊·
@ceeasquared, 😂😂😂😂😂 Adham said "oh stop its not even that bad! It doesn't hurt like that" The nurse looked at him and said "you need to leave" he walked out in the biggest huff whispering "kicking me out! That's MY son!" 😂😂😂😂

I'm a FTM I educated my self on inductions and already decided I don't want one. I hope baby comes on time and on her own. I thinks it's dangerous to force it and I don't want to take any chances.

I went past due with both and having had to be induced twice, I so agree! I wish I would've gone into labor on my own!!
